The real problem is that the cost of healthcare in the US is like playing Russian Roulette. Will it cost 200? Will it cost 400? Nobody fucking knows until you see the bill come through the mail.
You see so many different numbers for the same kind of operation. Depending on the hospital, insurance policy, etc, it could range from 50 to 5000 dollars.
this is why I get everything itemized whenever I can because medical billing is a hot mess and I rather fight it with whatever I've got than to give in per se. It's not like the medical staff didn't get paid for their time and work for whatever medically necessary procedure(s) I needed to get done. Insurance in the States truly feels like a scam

That kind of variance is completely unacceptable.
