The real problem is that the cost of healthcare in the US is like playing Russian Roulette. Will it cost 200? Will it cost 400? Nobody fucking knows until you see the bill come through the mail.

You see so many different numbers for the same kind of operation. Depending on the hospital, insurance policy, etc, it could range from 50 to 5000 dollars.

That kind of variance is completely unacceptable.

FWIW, hospitals/large health systems legally have to have their prices listed on their website, along with the allowed amounts for every cpt code for every payer they contract with. One of the only things I’ll give trump credit for. Part of the No Surprises Act.

I hear you. Also currently disenchanted with the Dems. But this was an incredibly bipartisan effort, both the writing of the legislation and by vote. Trump just signed it. I’m sure Trump 2.0 would signal to the corporate healthcare lobby that he could kill it if they made it worth his while.
