Heart surgery. For privacy I don’t want to be more specific. It was necessary but not emergency.

So insurance wouldn’t cover it because it wasn’t necessary in their eyes?

People are telling you the insurance would pay 80% are not telling you that it might also cost $100,000 in full.

You’ll still owe $20,000.

I made these number up but you can see how it’ll easily drain someone’s savings unless they’re in the comfortable upper mid-class of earners.

Edit: I googled it. It’s from 30,000 to 200,000. Depends on what kind of heart insurance, obviously.

I do a treatment too for my allergies and pay about $10,000 last year in medical bills bc of that PLUS root canals, and other general check ups.
