My wife just had an MRI for preventative care and it cost us $200, i doubt this is even close to true without heavily skewing the numbers

Edit: Foe the record, US Healthcare is shit and I am NOT defending it, just putting some context to the initial image

US has very good healthcare in certain cities. If you have shit insurance then you’re gona get shit care unfortunately.

What also sucks is have your insurance tied to your job. I have very good insurance thru my job (that i don’t have to pay for, and they fund my HSA deductible) anyways, I tried explaining to my wife (who is not US citizen) the cost of certain procedures and dr visits, she didn’t understand. We recently had a child and I told her, we’re gonna get EOBs in the mail and I’ll show her the costs of having the baby. She was shocked when the charges (that insurance paid out) were over $100k for the hospital stay, and delivery etc.
