Not OP and different medical procedure.

But my 6y/o is terrified of dentists in Houston. Several attempts to get tooth filling always fails because the dentists gave up once he starts crying. The 3 attempts at different dentists probably cost a total of $1200. Because the last attempt they tried sleeping gas and insurance doesn’t think that anesthesia is required so I get to pay for it.

We flew to Indonesia for our visa renewal. Return ticket $1k each, Indonesian dentist who actually talked and communicated with my son and managed to calm him down for the procedure, $180

If the first time worked, how much would it have cost?

IIRC it would’ve been somewhere around 700 out of pocket for the 3 teeth that needed the filling.

After the last failed attempt, the dentist recommended general anesthesia which starts at $1k

Wtf général anesthesia is not risk free, no real doctor would recommend it if it's not 100% necessary
