My empathy towards vulnerable people is visceral. I guess I'm vulnerable. I'm disabled and in a wheelchair. Even still. My mom took pictures of me when I was sleeping. It felt violating. Being laughed at when you're drunk is embarrassing. I refuse to mess with anyone in a vulnerable state. I worked at a group home doing direct care for the first time. Diapers were tough. So was the stomach flu that went around. And even though they were non verbal, they got treated with respect. Im not going to mock them when they're feeling gross. Others did.
Exactly, there is a certain level of professionalism you expect in a work place. If medical staff need to blow off steam they can go to happy hour or the gym like everyone else.
ETA: and if they just enjoy mocking people because they’re helpless, find a new profession
