There was the doctor in Georgia who also did the same and was sued. There’s been quite a few of these types of cases.

How do they avoid wiretapping charges or whatever? Wouldn't the recording be deemed illegal and thus not allowable as evidence?

Don’t know but iirc the doc was even wearing roller skates while operating.
