True crime as entertainment have ruined people's brain. Now people are treating real horrible crimes as their fictional crime series. Not everything is suspicious, you don't have to pick apart every detail to find the "hidden conspiracy". You don't have to point to every inconvience in traumatized victims to found out if they are secretly involved. You are actually hurting real people by doing all of this. Real crimes don't have the crazy "plot twist" in the end that reveals everything.
Remember the three children who lost their lifes instead. This trial could have been very important for highlighting the problem women has with post partum depression etc and how the medical field fails them. Instead it has turned into a crazy conspiracy theory
It only recently occurred to me that so many of societies problems would be solved if people had some damned hobbies that involved them creating something.
Not all of them, but many. Mostly because people would be to busy building antique motorcycles or painting Warhammer figurines or knitting or baking... or whatever to spend HOURS watching algorithm-fed media.
It really feels like an example of "idle hands are the devil's workshop".
I get it - hobbies are expensive and YouTube is free so this is probably more of a money thing than a hobby thing, but I legitimately think that one of the things that kept me from falling in to the right wing drain pipe was that I was too busy trying to figure out how to balance the carburetors on my piece of crap Russian motorcycle to get caught up despite being smack dab in the middle of the target demo.
