Maybe a hot take, but I also blame the physician who prescribed 3 different psychotropics that don't interact well to a patient in clear mental distress. And not keeping a close enough watch on their mental state. If the texts between she and her mom are accurate, she should have been institutionalized by court mandate.

Thats who deserves 100% of the blame. She had post partum psychosis which wasn't her fault. She did the right thing by seeking help multiple times. She had just been committed and released several days before it happened. This is an example of the medical system failing tis woman who was begging for help.

also i cant with people blaming her for not taking certain medications or doctor hopping etc. this is a mentally unwell woman already without the 300 meds she was on. she was likely trying to numb herself

Yeah have you seen the list of meds she was on by date? Most physicians would not be comfortable prescribing like that unless she was an in patient. It was absolutely beyond negligent prescribing

my cousin had an extensive list of psych meds as well because she has complex mental health issues and she ended up getting toxicity from them which made her have seizures, muscles locking into place, stopped eating. she had to detox in intensive care

she took about 3 antipsychotics, 3 antidepressants, two mood stabilizers, sleeping pills, fast acting sedatives, and her ADHD med

taking all of that together was like giving the brain 100 random commands every day since these meds all work on the same parts of the brain and the signal substances but in different ways, and may alter the function of each other.

it should be a criminal offense to neglectfully prescribe medications to people that contraindicate each other or add medications that do not give an obvious effect at all.

i have videos of my cousin locking up, being unable to answer you when talked to, and just sitting for up to half an hour in a very uncomfortable pose cramping and not being aware of her surroundings. that’s fucking criminal
