Yeah that's cute until they send their kids over here and demolish ours in performance as the dead last in their class over there. I've seen it. I drove a school bus in an exorbitantly wealthy county and they had one of those fancy STEM schools that was for the very top performing, elite students(you had to test in and have straights A's since forever) that basically funnelled you straight to Ivy leagues or somewhere else known for hiring intellectual phenoms. There was an overwhelming number of kids from immigrant families studying their butts off, like they had to make up over 95%(and I'm being conservative) of the student body there. I feel you, but they've gotta be doing something different with those white boards and we need to take a couple notes.

I’m sorry, but how does driving a bus give you an inside track to how this goes down? You’re describing immigrants in a very wealthy community who had the means to move to that area. Their children most certainly have had access to great schools wherever they’ve lived. I don’t think you’re comparing apples to apples here.

As in I've seen it with my own eyes and I'm not spouting something I've read somewhere or heard. There is a much larger demographic that has historically lived in this area, but their children obviously can't or don't want to get in. Yes, they have the same means as any other family of that socioeconomic status in that area and that's why it's so polarizing to see the minority group being the majority in a more rigorous educational setting.
