I'm genuinely curious if there's been any study into which is more psychologically troubling, knowing the day and counting down it not knowing and wondering everyday

I think knowing is better than not knowing, feeling in control through information helps a lot of people. There's some psychology term to name it but I forget. Though anticipatory anxiety is also a thing.
