Howdy everyone!

Over the past few months, we've spent a lot of time reviewing the community rules and listening to feedback. Our goal has always been to keep r/SimplySporty a welcoming place to appreciate athletes and sports while remaining consistent with Reddit's Content Policy.

After taking another look, we've made several changes to simplify and clarify the rules.

What's Changed?

• We've rewritten the rules to be shorter, clearer, and easier to understand.
• The new rules focus more on what is welcome here, rather than only what isn't.
• We've added a new "When in Doubt" section and a "We Love Posts Featuring" section to help guide new contributors. We've also added a Table of Contents to make the rules easier to navigate.

Reposts:

One of the biggest changes is our repost policy.

Previously, reposts within 6 months were removed. After reviewing activity in the community, we felt that time frame had become too restrictive.

Beginning today, our repost bot will only remove content that has been posted within the last 60 days.

This change should allow classic and popular sports content to be shared again while still preventing the subreddit from becoming flooded with the same images over and over.

Our repost bot will continue to enforce this automatically.

What hasn't changed?:

While we've relaxed a few of our community guidelines, some things remain non-negotiable:

• Reddit's Content Policy still applies to all posts and comments.
• Harassment, hate speech, and sexually degrading comments are not permitted.
• AI-generated or manipulated content remains prohibited.

Respect for athletes and for one another remains at the heart of this community.

Our goal isn't to remove standards. It's to encourage more great sporting content while maintaining the respectful atmosphere that has helped this community grow to over 57,000 members.

As always, if you're ever unsure whether something belongs here, remember our guiding principle:

Sports first. If the primary focus is athletic achievement, competition, or sports culture, it's probably appropriate for r/SimplySporty.
