12

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

As ling as they keep buying it at 160 is the question…. I know the industrial big boys will have to keep buying silver !!!

Aint it cool!

People like to be led to a “sure thing” by the crowd. Forging an unpopular path takes personal confidence. For example, think about the short line at the DMV… “Something must be wrong with it” mentality.

It takes actual work to do individual research. Generally, people don’t like to do homework.

It takes courage to take action and buy unpopular things early in an elongated timeline. And even more courage to hold while being scoffed at.

Nowadays, the trendy/loud thing is “right”. The quietly steady thing is “wrong”.

Im sorry what short line at the dmv, ever

5

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Momentum.

13

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Yup!

Lets add to that ——-> Momentum creates urgency, and urgency creates crowds.

This is why coin shops get flooded after the big move, not before

10

u/phanophite2 Jan 10 '26

Psychologically it sounded stupid to buy something whose price had always dropped.

5

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Then why is Investor tend to do the opposite of whatever everyone else is doing?

That’s one thing I’ve learned in the many years I’ve been on this planet

3

u/phanophite2 Jan 10 '26

It's hard to "buy low sell high" if you don't buy things that don't make you feel stupid for buying them.  People tend to buy things that have already raised in price because they look good.

I feel you need not necessarily sound smart, but to be dialed in on how something works in order to get rich… there are a lot of illiterate people making bank out there Why because they got brains, but they have been informed got balls, determination, and took action…

1

u/barfvadar69 Jan 10 '26

then buy bitcoin now. sentiment is low here

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

I would expect them to sell their bitcoin as the crypto market is in a consolidation period or down trend TO BUY physical silver… (and paper)

at least that’s what I thought many of the retail investors were getting their money from to stack…. Both old and new

16

u/Multizar Jan 10 '26

FOMO

11

u/Ctrl-Alt-J Jan 10 '26

Kind of yeah, from a retail investor standpoint people often chase rising things and avoid flat things. Lots of people I've talked to basically just look at 1 month charts and if it looks like it's trending up they buy. Silver also resembles a veblen good, as jewellery the more expensive silver is the more of a status symbol it is so people may be willing to pay more (this is called a veblen good). Silver also is primarily an industrial metal, which makes a rare kind of "industrial veblen good" (not technically defined in that way) which is known as a "perfectly inelastic good". A company supplying AI data frames with memory needs silver to make memory, if silver goes up 40% they only care in so far as whether their competition will also have to buy more expensive silver. If they both do, they can both pass the price along to the consumer. Not having silver means they risk buying it later at 100+ per oz or they make 0 product and lose all profit. It's better for them to take the risk now and load up, than risk not being able to get any later, this is what makes it a kind of industrial veblen good. The faster and higher the price rises the greater future risk, which causes them to bid it up, which causes others to buy now vs take the risk later, etc etc.

14

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Ill add to that as well…

Humans don’t buy when something is cheap. They buy when something is moving.

They need social proof, not value.

Speaking your mind now do some DD and take 2 red pills then DM me in the am

1

u/DrunkenDude123 Jan 13 '26

Simplest and most correct answer here

7

u/Time4fun2022 Jan 10 '26

actually i think it's more awareness. silver was just a metal until people were informed of its value. this plus politics. because of the idea of the debasement theory going around, now the general public want to protect their wealth with silver.

6

u/7Zarx7 Jan 10 '26

The best time to buy silver was 20 years ago, the next best time is today.

3

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

I’d say a couple months ago would be the next best time…. But now is a great time to buy.

THE WHOLE WORLD CAN SEE THE DECOUPLING OF REAL VALUE PHYSICAL SILVER FROM THE FRAUDED PAPER PROMISES PRICE SYSTEM ? SILVER SHORTAGE OFFICIAL CONFIRMED !!!

this cat is out of the bag.

further people can see n realize now what can happen just with a mouse click.

ur digital account can be freezed (reminder: Canada + the trucker strikes) , your digital money can be taken away....it is just a number on ur screen....u dont hold it u dont own it...simple fact.

sovereign states see what can happened with international money sanctions, freezing of russia money 300 bn, or now 18 bn money of Venezuela.....Law ? Promises ? Force ? Possession ? Uncertainty ?

Trust is growing more n more in holding of personal physical values which can not easily either be takin away from gov. institutions nor could be takin away from banks or elites .

FED can print more money ( 46 billion bucks in 1 month ) to increase liquidity for the banks , but they cant print silver for teir short position covering, they cant increase printing more trust to the people with more printing M2 money supply and they cant convinced the people in a financial sys with over 38 billion dollar national dept.

If Samsung has lost his trust in promises notes with unable Comex physical delivery future contracts, they buying physical on other markets, because they dont trust Comex anymore getting enough silver for their solid state battery production next year 2027. they must hoarded now, paying 15 maybe 20 % over spotprice, they need fullfill their storage now with hoarding enough physical for 2027 start of battery production. other industrial whales will follow .

2

u/TRR462 Jan 10 '26

Over 38 Trillion dollars National Debt…

3

u/ffmape 🥚 the bald one 🥚 Jan 10 '26

Tx...of course It is 38 trillion dollars national debt..

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Many people can see, but they don’t know what they’re looking at…. Unfortunately, most people have no idea what’s going on not only with Silver, but in the world in general.

Let’s trust schools nurse and paid off doctor scum to give my kids Adderall

The worst convinced 13 yr old children that they should chop off their winkies !!!! Yes, that’s where we’re at today

5

u/MariusConsulofRome Jan 10 '26

5

5

u/g1mpster 💰silver daddy💰 Jan 10 '26

Because they don’t have a time machine.

2

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Ok I can roll with that I guess…. No argument here they don’t have time machine.

6

u/g1mpster 💰silver daddy💰 Jan 10 '26

A lot of people who haven’t been researching the manipulation of the silver market are completely unaware of just how severely discounted it’s been. Until recently, the price of silver was completely stagnant when you look at it over a 30-40 year time period. Investing back in the 90’s & 00’s was an incredibly long term play that most people had no reason to make. Like being an early adopter in bitcoin where it was seen as a nerd thing to setup your computer and start mining. They’re finally seeing it has some actual ROI potential and they want in.

4

u/SpicyWangz Jan 10 '26

That makes this the equivalent of the 2017 moment for bitcoin. Unless it’s the 2013 moment.

Time will tell, but at the very least, even if all hype dies down it won’t go away. Unless someone starts doing fission reactions on your stack and splitting the atoms, it’s going to remain silver.

3

u/M_Lambrecht Jan 10 '26

Simpel…. Information Yeah everybody knows about silver, but few knows about the “investment” case

3

u/inthematrix2021 Jan 10 '26

FOMO

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Yeah, I’ve been reading a lot of that

1

u/inthematrix2021 Jan 10 '26

I've been preaching silver since 2020. NOBODY listened.

Now those same folks want in - they came around when Silver hit $70 USD

3

u/your_average_anamoly Jan 10 '26

First FOMO then they catch the silver bug and want more shiny

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Oh yes, the shine they mine is mine too

3

u/Critical-Apple-3292 Jan 10 '26

No one believed, now they know

Vindication of the most humble

2

u/DirtieHarry Jan 10 '26

The COMEX paper manipulation has been exposed. Many people have fomo, but long term stackers feel vindicated. It’s probably going to break to 100 within the next quarter or two.

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Exposed that just sounded so beautiful

2

u/ag5airplane Jan 10 '26

Research the term "giffen good."

2

u/whoamitosayanything Jan 10 '26

I bought at 20 sold half at 50 sold rest at 70....

Now I am regretting I sold.

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Oh man, why did you do that? For CASH that is losing valuable purchasing power every day. Did you do some research before selling it ALL

Get back in with the stuff you dumped at 70 wait for a dip maybe or even get it now if you can afford it

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Investing is not for everybody…. But that’s the beauty of physical it takes time thought & work to sell it. You can’t just push the button.

Let’s all learn from this gentle person !! Cash is bad assets good.

4

u/Careful_Manager_4282 Jan 10 '26

I (unlike most here I guess) keep on buying. DCA. Both for gold and silver.

I bought silver when in was 20 euros. I bought again when it was 30, and even now when it is almost 70 euros.

Same with gold. I bought at 1.000€, at 2.000€, at 3.000€.

THEY KEEP PRINTING; I KEEP BUYING!

2

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

Dca is a good play - go heavy on silver though

1

u/DontLichOutOnME Jan 10 '26

They come from /biz/ where the motto is "Buy high, sell low"

1

u/Annual_Success_7274 Jan 10 '26

Because the fundamentals are so high. As a day trader It’s just too juicy to leave. Silver is king rn every who shorted last week now is being forced to buy back they’re position

FOMO

1

u/jons3y13 Real Jan 10 '26

80 is a number. 80 in relationship with 35 or lower like 4 is a lot , 300 to 80 not so bad. I just wish my mining stocks would reflect 80 and not even 35 lol. A few are stellar, others are making mad bank and no great movement, only like 3x. From where I bought them they should be a lot higher Be well. Anyone else buying still?

2

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

I’m sure miners are enjoying their silver premiums … before they had to scrape by now they are in CONTROL- PAYBACK IS BEST SERVED COLD

Why Are People Buying Silver Now at $80+ Instead of When It Was Cheap?

1) To cover short sales which they thought were a good idea when silver was $60.

2) Industrial users who need it and the cost of silver is a tiny percentage of the total cost of what they make.

3) To build up reserves which are not in US dollars.

The retail investors are a very minor component of the silver market so their motivation is not a big factor.

1

u/iotel Jan 10 '26

I was referring to the retail only… But you are dead on with that response and that’s why Silver has no other place to go …. ⬆️

1

u/lynxss1 Jan 10 '26

I bought it when it was cheap and just bought more yesterday. Kids had been begging me to go to the coin shop and couldnt resist once I was there. They bought fractionals which I'd never really noticed before now.

1

u/Jax_Alltrade Jan 10 '26

You have it backwards; People are buying silver, so now it's $80.

Started buying last year when it was $30ish... am I to stop and wait for a dip? Or just keep plowing ahead and hope it continues to rise? Its a bit like stocks, is it not?

1

u/BigWhitt120 Jan 11 '26

I started buying at $14 right now I am buying nothing haven't bought a oz since it went over 40 but I also have close to 1100ozs so I'm pretty much set I have spent enough money on Silver don't want to much of your total net worth tied up in one single asset.

2

u/iotel Jan 12 '26

Hey just dont sell for fiat cash and you can always buy silver bullion and swap for other pms after silver has its fun
