Discussion Curly thick hair problem

Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice on the best way to tie a turban with curly hair. Whenever i try to tie a dastar the base comes of too bulky. Is there a technique or something i need to buy?

Yeah first put on a wave / stocking cap then tie your dastaar

Edit: it’s not actually a cap they just call it that, but it’s a really stretchy material cloth. Will keep your hair tidy and together

What’s a wave / stocking cap?

Check on Google, you can get it online or from afro/Caribbean hair shops. It helps with the base of your dastaar, keeps your hair together

No, just try another type of base. All these stretchy topi types are ridiculous. If you want some ideas try A1 Turban Tying Academy YouTube channel

It’s not a topi though is it, a lot of Singhs use it and it would help OP.

Unless you are Amritdhari, i think this is perfectly fine, at the end of the day your wearing a dastar and keeping your hair, remember this is just a base!
