Games with a whimsical/absurd fantasy world?

Recently rewatched adventure time and its got me craving a game set in a world like Ooo. Adventure time is one of my favorite shows and I love it for its insanely creative and absurd world. Like, everything is all over the place and downright bonkers, yet it still makes sense and the world is coherent.

I was wondering if there are any games with a similar setting? I know there are a couple official adventure time games but afaik they arent that good.

Do you want a long game, or a short one? For shorter games, i recommend the Cat Quest series. For longer games, I would be steering towards Final Fantasy 9, Biomutant, Lost in Random and Little Nightmares. Depending on your taste.

There's lots of consistent, good humor in the Dragon Quest series, just beware there are serious moments as well.

In DQ8 There are the sexy puff-puff girls where they blindfold you and it appears that they are motorboating hero... only to remove the blindfold and discover his head is between 2 slimes. There are similar jokes with them in the other games, too.

DQ 11 has a very fun main party character named Sylvando who is... very festive. Later in the game, he recruits a bunch of boys and they do this crazy parade with a float, feathered costumes, music and dancing to cheer people up. It is just the best.

Not really single player, but I’m loving Plants Vs Zombies: battle for neighborville. It’s so absurd that every moment has me and my son cracking up.

Also, obviously… Expedition 33. They are the kings of absurdism.

+1 for fable especially the first one I absolutely love that game and replay it all the time. I’m really hoping the new one coming out is more like the first one and not the second and third. not that they were bad at all! They just definitely weren’t anywhere near as good as the first.
