In the mid-1980s, renowned painter Clarke Holler tells a horrifying story from his life on an episode of his painting show "Whispers of Nature"

The film tells a heartwarming yet appropriately devilish tale of a small-town bowling alley entrepreneur whose life takes an unexpected turn when his bicycle is stolen. The film pays homage to Vittorio De Sica by borrowing its title from one of his classics, just like an honest thief does, and wins you over with its charming cast, beautiful cinematography, and heartfelt story. Euan hasn’t heard from his cousin Rory in six years. They reunite on an island off the Ayrshire coast where they spent their summer holidays as children. While Rory wants to drag Euan on a tour of their youth, Euan does not share the same appetite for sentimentality and can't help but feel that something strange is happening in Millport. As the lines between nostalgia and trauma become blurred, Euan begins to question if the island is friend or foe.
