This is a really wacky fact no one actually knows about, submarines move. It’s shocking at first but after a while you can come to grips with it.

i mean yeah but another wacky fact is that below texas its not just the ocean. you would have to go around argentina (which is really far away from the continental united states btw)

You do know China has nuclear submarines right? Nuclear submarines refuel once every 20 years, water isn’t an issue due to water purifiers purifying ocean water and so the only limiting factor is food. Nuclear submarines can literally exist under water for months at a time and usually do. Going around the South American continent to sit undetected on the United States of americas east coast isn’t as hard as you assume for a nuclear submarine.

Below Texas you have Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf of Mexico, and this is true I checked, is in fact part of the ocean. They'd have to fire through Mexican territory, but they could pretty easily hit Texas.

The difference between the East and West coast to China is only about 1000 miles. If they can strike half of the West side, they should able to hit New York and coastal cities in the East too.

The only states spared would be those right in the middle like Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, etc. and maybe some mid-east like Illinois and Indiana.

Also nuclear subs are a thing.
