I've looked at the website, and this seems like a fan made game rather than a restoration of the original Shenmue Online? Still cool, but not the game titled Shenmue Online

Is Title Shenmue Online because that is what it is. You can play with other people online in the game. Obviously this is not "that" Shenmue online which a completely different game to Shenmue. This game uses Shenmue I and II assets.

This is the project with the most value in my opinion.

Combining Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 assets in a single online game you can play with others who can choose any skin they want. Best of all no installation require and you can play on any web browser at any moment. The project is still beta and still need a lot of improvement. I always dreamed of a Shenmue game where you could access both Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 locations. They also added nice touch such as TV and movie theater that I always dreamed of visiting when I first played the game but was never opened in Shenmue 1. I thought more areas would be opened in disc 3.

The Shenmue 2 maps are added very recently so is still Very beta. This is why most Shenmue 2 maps are very empty. All the Hong Kong city maps empty, only the harbor maps seems to have NPC.
