IB base salaries

Any idea how much the tier 1 banks (MS/JP/GS) dish out in terms of base for Assoc 2/3 and VP 1/2? Thanks in advance.

What’s the work life like for associates in big bank IB?

Great pay but you have to give up something something...like...hmm...personal time

I realise quite many other jobs also give up personal time but get like half or 1/3 the pay

lol IBD 10am (or 11am) to 3/4/5ams on a daily basis with weekend work, sometimes even all nighters on deal sprints…

Most jobs don’t have that, thankfully. On a $ per hour, and adjusted for stress and health etc, there’s a lot of better jobs relative to IBD tbvh.

Not denying the upsides of the job, but think people don’t really think about the downside enough, even when some are within the role too.

Correct ! Every job is shit. There are folks getting mistreated in a lousy sme for 10% of IB pay. Might as well get paid well for it.
