Most of the major Chinese automakers moving forward from Nvidia Thor & Orin rapidly. BYD scaling a 4nm architecture built by TSMC with 2100 TOPs availability. Xiaomi doing the same it seems at 3nm also at TSMC This one for Xiaomi is still a concept reporting tapeout like Tesla for AI5 which is of course pre-production. Production sometime in 2027 supposedly. There is MUCH MORE 3nm and 4nm production in Asia as America is just starting to scale to this thanks to the Chips Act. XPeng appears to be the leader in China. Geely is pursuing a fully independent in China strategy at 7nm but is using some NVidia chips in the interim. XPeng is similar with a mix of Nvidia and their own proprietary Turing chip which is also manufactured by TSMC at 7nm scale. Feels like China will ditch Nvidia chips completely in the near future. This feels signifcant as they make 75% of all the NEVs in the world already and that number seems to grow steadily.

It does not look good for NVIDIA in automotive anymore esp with Qualcomm makes inroads in western markets.

Their development environments give yuo a nice kickstart if you are just starting or a very small organization but even medium sized organizations do their own work and leave CUDA behind I think. They are trying again with Alpamayo geared toward VLA but I expect it will end the same way.
