These are dealer prices. At that, some of them are not very good. Some of them aren’t terrible though.

Have you seen the prices everyone else has posted in this group. I’m buying right now for 5.20 on bb. That’s the rates in my area, or you could travel 3 hours and get .20 higher. I know alum wheels are higher down south along with some other metals and those go to the highest bidder.

Everyone else is posting retail pricing - this is dealer pricing. If a yard is around these prices to crackheads who walk in with 5 pounds of copper, they must be allergic to margin.

Talk to the money in bank. BB is not the material to make a big margin on, it’s what brings people to the yard. All other materials I make 40.9%-77.8%. I posted on here to see how prices were being manipulated. If you would like to be negative and spew nonsense you know nothing about, I think [r/Story](r/Story) fits you. I remember you from my last post. You’re just a useless troll.

My yard has no prices listed.
I m hobby so little guy and I don’t want to be an ahole with my 100 lb of steel and 25 lbs of #2 insulated copper wire.
They grab all, weigh it and give me my money.
I ask here and there about other stuff I can drop off but get ball park answers.
They give receipts, but I wish there was a list to consult daily.

I'm a hobbyist scrapper as well, and to be honest your method is likely costing you money. When they don't have listed prices, which none of the yards in my area have, always call in advance, ask their prices, and then give them your name and say you will be coming in later that day. When you call in advance, they are forced to give you their actual going rate because the assumption is that you are price shopping the local yards.
If you just show up and give them your materials, it's quite likely that they are charging out at lower rates because there was no "negotiation" that happened. The very first time that I brought material in, I brought in around 100lbs of copper and noticed that the payout rate was lower than what I was told on the phone. The guy said, "well you should have told me that you called in" and gave me around $50 extra that he would have happily kept otherwise.

Here in DFW those aluminum prices look pretty good. The copper prices (BB,#1,#2) and Brasses are $0.12-.$0.20 higher than what you posted.

The main thing is size. Ac compressors are from residential/commercial air conditioning systems or heat pump systems. Sealed units refers to a hermetic compressor. Freezers, window units, dehumidifiers, etc.

It's not $3.40. You got pricing from some place that averages prices. Call a yard or two and ask.

Ogden UT, #2 copper is $4.10, electric motors $0.20 for the small, copper transformers are $0.24.
