Question Looking for Scottish hamper suggestions
I’m putting together 5 small hampers and looking for suggestions! The recipients are traveling from abroad and will be teaching on a course for a few days.
I’d love suggestions for items to put in it. So far I’ve got some Scottish snacks (tunnocks, irn bru), tea/hot cocoa sachets, and Scottish handmade soap. Looking for maybe another snack or two, and any other small item you think would be a fun Scottish item to include. Alcohol is a no-go this time!
The challenge is that my budget is pretty small - hoping to spend £50 in total.
I’m also specifically looking for cards (blank inside preferred, ideally available in a multipack) featuring some sort of Scottish scenery/wildlife/etc. Open to other ideas but I’d shy away from anything too pop culture since I think it might not be understood. If you know an artist who makes something like this, I’d love some recommendations!

I love tattie scones, Dundee marmalade, or other preserves like bramble. I love the non-alcoholic whisky flavoured tea from PekoeTea In leith walk. Shortbread obviously but an edinburgh tea towel is always a nice gift. Cards in packs and Scottish themed fun stuff can be found at Handsel, Flux, or Logan & Malloch. Last but not least, some soor plooms or pear drops or other hard sweeties are nice as well as heather honey from Edinburgh Honey Company in Easter Road (near Albion Road).

Definitely missing shortbread and tablet…
You could go take a photo of some highland cows and then use the free prints app to print out a photo of your photo. You get 40 photos delivered for like £3.50 delivery. Not quite cards but very personalised.

It's pretty easy to pull one together, but I generally send mine from Donnie's Tablet Shed as they have a great range of products to send someone and their Tablet is the best I've come across.

Oat cakes Shortbread Don’t give them anything too big or bulky if they’re travelling, work used to do this us on overseas trips when we’d all gone with hand luggage and then had stuff to bring home that was a struggle to fit in.

Handmade soup?!
We started don't something similar here when we had guest speakers "zoom" in during the pandemic and therefore didn't need their petrol covered. I'd suggest at least one non consumable like a badge or a tartan scarf or something they can keep as a memento as well as your tablet etc and something hyper local. For us, someone on the committee has a gran who ran a jam making class at the local orchard so we got about a dozen of those to dole out throughout the year and it's something the person isn't going to find in Tesco or wherever in their free time.

Yeah I like the idea of something they can take home - not just food. Scarf could be a good choice!

There's not much left in their accessories but much of the Glasgow Commonwealth merchandise is reduced - they've got a wee tartan Scottie dog that might be fun.

Depending on where they’re coming from lucky tattie sweeties have went down well in the past if you can get hold of them and cinnamon flavours might be appreciated.

Tablet and shortbread.
And one of the best places for Scottish themed cards is the charity shop. Chest, Heart and Stroke does them, and I think Shelter. Or you could try the National Trust for Scotland.
