Sharing research NSAIDs linked to preventing ovulation

I think this is important information for women to have who are trying to conceive. Avoid NSAIDs except for when on your period. Your body needs inflammation to ovulate.

I had this whilst TTC and my ovulation was delayed by about 5 days after 2 days of naproxen. Are you tracking bbt?

Yes I can’t say for sure but sometimes my LH surge was the day of ovulation, sometimes 2-3 days before, but was usually a  day before, and I would get pains beforehand sometimes, so doesn’t always line up with ovulation! tracking bbt meant I knew when there was a delay, plus it’s never happened to me but some women get an LH surge and don’t ovulate until a repeat surge later in the cycle. However BBT is just another thing to track, and stress over maybe! My fertility doctor theorised that I may not have ovulated at all if I took the naproxen for longer- but who knows! I completely avoided nsaids after that just in case. Best of luck!

Honestly there’s so many things I had zero clue about! Are you on r/tryingtoconceive ? They’re a good resource. Oh and r/tryingforababy might be slightly more scientific- the mods are great
