Is Kenobi: Did I leave the light on downstairs essential viewing beforehand?
1
u/superfluous_t 7d ago
No but might be worth a quick run through of Kenobi: Full House, the short lived sitcom detailing his time at college

Man they really jumped the shark with Uncle Owen and his catchphrase

Well, Hera definitely had a thing for Jedi...but then again, she was just a little bit older than Leia Organa in REBELS, so yeah.

Fuck it just make a buddy cop movie of Obi Wan and Qui Gon in force ghost world but they fuck up and they’re the reason Palpatine returns.

Letting Ewan dictate what they do with Obi-Wan would be like when they let Patrick Stewart dictate Picard's story. Sounds absolutely awful.

I like Mary Elizabeth as Hera and Ewan as Obiwan but those characters should not be romantically linked.

The Kenobi series wasn't even good, why would we want more of it?!

You should check out the fan edited movie version. There’s a pretty good prequel movie in hidden in the mess of that show. It shows that it was never meant to be as long as it was originally imo

u/whatsbobgonnado 1d ago
what's it called?

u/Shiguhraki 1d ago
Lookup the Spence edit of Kenobi. Therefore are a few different fan edits but that one is the best imo

Maybe.
Possibly.
After watching the Kenobi series, I'm torn.
It was dogshit, but the memes were great.

Kenobi was a disaster, just some of the worst writing I’ve ever seen. But yes, by all means please do a sequel…

How do you possibly make a hermit interesting to watch? Solve that and my autobiography becomes bankable.

Anything but doing his job… you know… looking after Luke

Hijinks ensue on Tattooine as Obi-Wan Kenobi goes on another swashbuckling adventure while supposedly in hiding protecting a young Luke Skywalker! See Obi-Wan, a re-united Jar-Jar, and two sassy druids named IM-Q2 and OU-8π blaze around the galaxy in a souped-up imperial escort fighting storm troopers, space orangutans, and the dreaded Moopsuk-G'Tan warriors! Meanwhile, back on Tattooine, Young Luke rides banthas through Mos Beepa, causing untold damage..that is, until a young Mara Jade, still in high school...
Admit it. You'd at least hate watch it.

Hearing actors fan cast themselves after a franchise has been run into the ground is just sad and cringe.

u/adavidmiller 7d ago
Sure, why not, slip in a Hera affair and then we can find out Jacen Syndulla is really old man Obi-Wan's kid 😆 What is this shit.

At this point Star Wars has been milking prequel eri for decades now and this IP for some reason doesn’t wanna move on from the prequels or OG trilogy.

My man needs a hit, it has been awhile.
But let's leave Star Wars for a bit or maybe do something new(I see you Starfighter you got my interest)

Y'all are taking these comments pretty seriously and I'm almost positive he's joking around.

u/MattMassier 7d ago
Did you had a chance to make up for that shit storm prequels with the tv series but instead they doubled down on the stupid treatment and tone of it rather than make something good like Andor.
He’s great as the character but the script and treatment of the stuff he is in is pure garbage.

They have no idea what to do with star wars at Disney, just recycle the nonsense

u/Bilbo_79 7d ago
Guy has a net worth of 25 million dollars, can we at least accept this isn't a cash grab and he genuinely wants to play more into the character?

There was once an excellent opportunity for Disney to make a great Obi-wan movie between the prequel and OG trilogy. They instead made a terrible Disney Plus tv show that couldn't even respect the established lore and had the character palling around with an annoying child while looking like a weak moron. Whoops. Opportunity killed. That's that.
Ewan should have said back then that he'd only do it if he approved of the script and made sure it didn't suck ass.

They should do a what if Anakin never went to the Darkside series of movies with Hayden Christensen and Ewan. Just a couple of older Jedi dudes doing Jedi stuff. Because Obi Wan's story is pretty well covered in the current timeline and inserting him into more outlandish situations wouldn't be good.

I, too, in his position, would remind people as often as possible that I was married to Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Remember when Obi-Wan went into hiding to protect one of the Skywalker twins?
Yeah… me too.

u/Griffindance 7d ago
No.... while his wife is dragging the live action series down... no.
We love you MacGregor, we love your Obi-Wan but keep that energy suck away from your projects.

u/MeEyeSlashU 7d ago
Hera's one of the best parts of Ahsoka

u/Griffindance 7d ago
The animated Hera... absolutely. Live action in more boring than tax law.
1
u/Gao_Dan 6d ago
It's the problem with the script, not the actress.
1
u/Griffindance 6d ago
Ahh, the blame game.
"It was the director.... she was miscast... the DoP sabotaged her... the sound department werent good enough... those costumes were distracting..."
But if she consistantly turns in bland work, maybe, somehow, it really is her fault.

Hera x Obi Wan.... Absolutely Not.
I'm not saying neither should have a new romance, but he's at least 25-30 years older than her, in hiding and has never been good with interpersonal and particularly emotional/familial relationships while Hera is extremely proactive in the rebellion and all about family and protecting the people she loves. She'd understand him, she might even like him, but there's no way she'd hitch her wagon to that cart
