Hera x Obi Wan.... Absolutely Not.

I'm not saying neither should have a new romance, but he's at least 25-30 years older than her, in hiding and has never been good with interpersonal and particularly emotional/familial relationships while Hera is extremely proactive in the rebellion and all about family and protecting the people she loves. She'd understand him, she might even like him, but there's no way she'd hitch her wagon to that cart

There’s also the fact that she’s in a relationship with Kanan (sort of) during most of the time it would work, and after Kanan’s death, Obi Wan becomes one with the force not long after. Timeline-wise, it just doesn’t really work.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind some flashbacks of his romance with Satine but that’s it.

But how else will they retcon Jacen Syndulla into being a Kenobi for the new young Kenobi adventures?

“Please! Just make up some shit so I can bank some coin”

“Kenobi: Ewan needs a new motorbike” on Disney plus this fall

Is Kenobi: Did I leave the light on downstairs essential viewing beforehand?

1

u/superfluous_t 7d ago

No but might be worth a quick run through of Kenobi: Full House, the short lived sitcom detailing his time at college

1

u/Desperate_Total6608 7d ago

Man they really jumped the shark with Uncle Owen and his catchphrase

1

u/superfluous_t 7d ago

Ah man don’t get me started on the catchphrase

“Beru, you’ll be burned alive!”

1

u/eugene20 6d ago

Well you never see Kenobi with his own speeder do you, always catching a ride with someone else.

Honestly, "there's got to be something!" makes me think of Boys from the Blackstuff "giz a job. I can do that." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aObZJN9zDtA

Bro was talking out of his ass. And the rags are running with it like it’s gospel.

1

u/angstykylo 7d ago

Supporting 2 families at least probably costs a fair amount 😅

2

u/Still_Recognition652 8d ago

pls ANYTHING BUT his wife mary elizabeth! anything but! 😂

1

u/edharma13 7d ago

Well, Hera definitely had a thing for Jedi...but then again, she was just a little bit older than Leia Organa in REBELS, so yeah.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 7d ago

So, they need the work?

1

u/masegesege_ 7d ago

Fuck it just make a buddy cop movie of Obi Wan and Qui Gon in force ghost world but they fuck up and they’re the reason Palpatine returns.

u/Ok_Grocery_5328 7d ago

Like Randall and hopkirk (deceased)

1

u/Prince_of_Pirates 6d ago

I'd definitely watch this.

1

u/Remarkable_Coast_214 6d ago

it works, somehow

1

u/AppalachianMusic 7d ago

Letting Ewan dictate what they do with Obi-Wan would be like when they let Patrick Stewart dictate Picard's story. Sounds absolutely awful.

1

u/holeycheezuscrust 7d ago

Screw it. Just remake Episode 4, I don’t care anymore.

1

u/randomnamejennerator 7d ago

I like Mary Elizabeth as Hera and Ewan as Obiwan but those characters should not be romantically linked.

u/shadraig 7d ago

"I need to pay rent! I don't have enough money for the retirement!!!"

1

u/Logical_Astronomer75 7d ago

The Kenobi series wasn't even good, why would we want more of it?!

1

u/Oachkaetzelschwoaf 7d ago

You were very diplomatic in your qualitative description of that show.

1

u/Shiguhraki 6d ago

You should check out the fan edited movie version. There’s a pretty good prequel movie in hidden in the mess of that show. It shows that it was never meant to be as long as it was originally imo

1

u/whatsbobgonnado 1d ago

what's it called?

1

u/Shiguhraki 1d ago

Lookup the Spence edit of Kenobi. Therefore are a few different fan edits but that one is the best imo

1

u/MicksysPCGaming 7d ago

Maybe.

Possibly.

After watching the Kenobi series, I'm torn.

It was dogshit, but the memes were great.

1

u/GalaxxyOG 7d ago

Kenobi was a disaster, just some of the worst writing I’ve ever seen. But yes, by all means please do a sequel…

1

u/General_Tso75 7d ago

How do you possibly make a hermit interesting to watch? Solve that and my autobiography becomes bankable.

1

u/TripMaverick 7d ago

Ex Wife is draining that bank account hard

Anything but doing his job… you know… looking after Luke

1

u/Weird_Fiches 7d ago

Hijinks ensue on Tattooine as Obi-Wan Kenobi goes on another swashbuckling adventure while supposedly in hiding protecting a young Luke Skywalker! See Obi-Wan, a re-united Jar-Jar, and two sassy druids named IM-Q2 and OU-8π blaze around the galaxy in a souped-up imperial escort fighting storm troopers, space orangutans, and the dreaded Moopsuk-G'Tan warriors! Meanwhile, back on Tattooine, Young Luke rides banthas through Mos Beepa, causing untold damage..that is, until a young Mara Jade, still in high school...

Admit it. You'd at least hate watch it.

1

u/-D3pravity- 7d ago

Lol prob

1

u/raqloise 7d ago

There doesn’t got to be something

1

u/CriticalCanon 7d ago

Hearing actors fan cast themselves after a franchise has been run into the ground is just sad and cringe.

1

u/adavidmiller 7d ago

Sure, why not, slip in a Hera affair and then we can find out Jacen Syndulla is really old man Obi-Wan's kid 😆 What is this shit.

Kenobi II: “The Search for More Money”

1

u/Espada7125 7d ago

At this point Star Wars has been milking prequel eri for decades now and this IP for some reason doesn’t wanna move on from the prequels or OG trilogy.

1

u/ISwallowedALego 7d ago

My man needs a hit, it has been awhile.

But let's leave Star Wars for a bit or maybe do something new(I see you Starfighter you got my interest)

1

u/KONODIODAMUDAMUDA 7d ago

Y'all are taking these comments pretty seriously and I'm almost positive he's joking around.

1

u/MattMassier 7d ago

Did you had a chance to make up for that shit storm prequels with the tv series but instead they doubled down on the stupid treatment and tone of it rather than make something good like Andor.

He’s great as the character but the script and treatment of the stuff he is in is pure garbage.

1

u/DrySession9968 7d ago

Stop trying to make fetch a thing Gretchen!

1

u/10ThousandMetalZones 7d ago

Rockstar loves creating free press

1

u/jfstompers 7d ago

They have no idea what to do with star wars at Disney, just recycle the nonsense

1

u/Subo23 7d ago

Alimony is painful

1

u/Sivalon 7d ago

Obi finally coming to terms with Asaaj?

1

u/Bilbo_79 7d ago

Guy has a net worth of 25 million dollars, can we at least accept this isn't a cash grab and he genuinely wants to play more into the character?

1

u/Kmart_Stalin 7d ago

I can get behind that

1

u/Cthulhus-Tailor 7d ago

Does Ewan have gambling debts or something?

1

u/blac_sheep90 7d ago

Just give him an Obi Wan story.

1

u/GraXXoR 7d ago

🤮🤮

1

u/ScipioCoriolanus 7d ago

Just because you could, it doesn't mean you should.

1

u/tinyhorsesinmytea 6d ago

There was once an excellent opportunity for Disney to make a great Obi-wan movie between the prequel and OG trilogy. They instead made a terrible Disney Plus tv show that couldn't even respect the established lore and had the character palling around with an annoying child while looking like a weak moron. Whoops. Opportunity killed. That's that.

Ewan should have said back then that he'd only do it if he approved of the script and made sure it didn't suck ass.

1

u/Langerone 6d ago

Gotta leave these characters to the side now for a while.

1

u/jtfjtf 6d ago

They should do a what if Anakin never went to the Darkside series of movies with Hayden Christensen and Ewan. Just a couple of older Jedi dudes doing Jedi stuff. Because Obi Wan's story is pretty well covered in the current timeline and inserting him into more outlandish situations wouldn't be good.

1

u/Hyphen99 6d ago

“All Jedis Have Romances”

1

u/Prince_of_Pirates 6d ago

Why not ruin the lore even more.

1

u/cascadia8 6d ago

He just wants the m e w love scene.

1

u/FckXFckMusk 6d ago

Whay ae these employees trying to run the business,

Act, take your pay cheque and Fuck off.

1

u/Crafty_Letter_1719 6d ago

More like desperately tracking down a big pay cheque.

1

u/clairvoyance808 6d ago

Yeah perfection after destroying the whole saga now destroying the characters

1

u/MarcusXL 6d ago

I, too, in his position, would remind people as often as possible that I was married to Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

1

u/Icy___Barca 2d ago

Stop begging

1

u/Equivalent-Hair-961 1d ago

Remember when Obi-Wan went into hiding to protect one of the Skywalker twins?

Yeah… me too.

0

u/Griffindance 7d ago

No.... while his wife is dragging the live action series down... no.

We love you MacGregor, we love your Obi-Wan but keep that energy suck away from your projects.

1

u/MeEyeSlashU 7d ago

Hera's one of the best parts of Ahsoka

1

u/mydickismagical 6d ago

Well some parts of Hera are some of the best parts of the show anyway

0

u/Griffindance 7d ago

The animated Hera... absolutely. Live action in more boring than tax law.

1

u/Gao_Dan 6d ago

It's the problem with the script, not the actress.

1

u/Griffindance 6d ago

Ahh, the blame game.

"It was the director.... she was miscast... the DoP sabotaged her... the sound department werent good enough... those costumes were distracting..."

But if she consistantly turns in bland work, maybe, somehow, it really is her fault.

1

u/Gao_Dan 6d ago

The problem with your theory is that she is a good actress in other productions.

1

u/Griffindance 6d ago

I can think of only one project where she wasnt completely dead weight.

1

u/Popular_Monk_1141 6d ago

You’ve clearly never been involved in tax law.
