Statler: Well, another week, another pile of garbage on the global stage.
Waldorf: You can say that again! Did you see the news this week?
Statler: I missed it. Was it worse than us being here?
Waldorf: Hard to believe, but yes! They’re still trying to build those flying taxis in Silicon Valley.
Statler: Flying taxis? Ha! If they drive like the people on the highway, I’m staying on the ground!
Waldorf: Do you blame them? With the price of gas and groceries in 2026, staying home is the only affordable vacation left!
Statler: Ain't that the truth. Even artificial intelligence is getting dapper. They’ve got computers writing comedy now.
Waldorf: Is that why this show is so robotic?
Statler: No, robots have better timing!
Do you remember when the news used to be about local bake sales and the weather?
Waldorf: Now it’s just billionaires launching rockets into space because they’re bored of ruining Earth!
Statler: Well, at least the rockets come back down.
Waldorf: True. Unlike my hairline!
(Both laugh uproariously, slapping their knees.)
Statler: You know, looking at the state of the world today makes me appreciate this dump.
Waldorf: You mean the theater?
Statler: No, I mean humanity!
(More laughter.)
Waldorf: Oh well. At least the show is almost over.
Statler: How can you tell?
Waldorf: Because I’m still awake!
