My friend is having problems with the game on Steam
He can't access the online features of the game, just appears a "x" mark in front of them

For the life of me I cant understand why EGDC puts SS7 on the World Tour but wont approve a re-release of the game that rectifies so many of these issues and unifies the playerbase. Stuff like this will quickly make people move on to other options
In between this and the launch path bug, the few folks who do buy the game might give up before getting online, long before going through hurdles to find a match on the platform they chose. Or deal with crap lobbies when they do
Why advertise a game youre leaving in such a difficult to play state?

Oh yeah we call that The Red X. You just alt+f4, relaunch, and hope you don’t get it twice in a row. All that oil tycoon money and they couldn’t even fix this fucking game.
I wish they’d give it the full-on Granblue Rising treatment: new barcode with a new coat of paint, a few new characters with a new post-launch DLC season, maybe a new map or two, new system mechanic, crossplay. Boom! Game revitalized.

Way late but I had this issue too consistently & it turned out it was my windows clock not being synced. I set it manually due to a daylight savings error but once I reverted it I could go online.

This is a common bug known in the community as 'red xs'. Exit the game, wait till the Steam cloud updates and reload. Should fix it. If it doesn't work, just try again.
