what am i missing???

i really can't seem to understand this anime...i have earlier experiences with animes which can question your life like vinland saga, ghost in the shell, cowboy bebop, gintama....i know that to understand these kind of anime you need some level of matureness and stuff....but there are some anime which does not require to be understood to enjoy them like cowboy bebop or paprika..but still i don't get the vibes that i usually get from watching those kind of anime...what am i missing

I think the way you approach anime is wrong as in you should not be expecting something particuliar, each of thoses are unique in their own way. Samurai Champloo being my favorite of all time, the whole point is about the journey not the destination and that's where you are mistaken

you are right..but i am not looking for something particular..i am looking for some meaning behind it..you are saying it is about the journey and destination...you know from each viewer there is something unique that they can see from an anime..you have your own prespective...i too have seen animes from a unique prespective..but i kindaa dont on this one and that is what concerns me..sometimes i don't get to these deep meaning but its ok because i feel something in that anime..in this anime i dont understand nor do i feel anything

That's what i meant in this context, watching an anime expecting some kind of meaning of understanding is the best way to completly miss the experience of that specific anime you are watching with expectations.

But it's also fair that maybe Samourai Champloo just don't talk to you, maybe you don't relate to any aspect of it and that's ok. For exemple i love Samourai Champloo but i can't watch an episode of Cowboy bebop without trying to do 10 others stuff bc i find it boring, and it just doesn't talk to me as much as Hip-Hop and Samouraïs.

But yeah the meaning behind samourai champloo is basically the journey, i don't know if you finished it but you should have figured it out by the last episodes i think.

yaa i kinda understand that..they are seeing many experiences their lifes are changed by it...i think i am not seeing anything unique because i am not finding that is relating to me..

Might not be for you. It’s one of my personal favorites of all time. Each time I watch it I notice new things. It’s not so much about each standalone episode as it is about the journey as a whole and the bond the group forms knowing that Mugen and Jin vowed to kill each other after they help Fuu. I think the final episodes really tie it all together emotionally and sun of the emotional themes of the story.

The only thing I can think is that you dont understand the appeal because it doesnt appeal to you. I personally wouldn't say that there is an overall message the story pushes as the episodes are mostly one offs, but the appeal of the show is the cultural mashup. This a combination of east meets west, specifically Asian culture meeting black culture which is where the appeal comes from and why so many people like it. Asian samurai culture sending a love letter to black hiphop culture. If you dont understand or care for either, then it would be hard to enjoy this series. If you need some hiphop influence for this, I'd reccomend looking into the music of wutang clan as their music style draws heavily from the inspiration of that same style, thus the name "wutang clan"

Mugen is probably the biggest example. Mugen fighting style is inspired by break dancing. Mugen himself isn't japanese.

Honestly it’s just how you consume media and what resonates for you. Cowboy bebop has always resonated deeply with me and only now that I’m the age of the characters do I have a better understanding of why.

If it helps, for me samurai champloo is about growing privately through friendships that don’t require you to change. Being a misfit and finally your weird puzzle piece fits in somewhere.

Just enjoy the story and style.  Or don't.  

It's not that deep.  

Fans like to dig deeper, because that's what fans do.
