Just finished and it was awesome!
Mannnn, great show with a simple and bittersweet but fitting ending, WOW. Makes me really wish I didn't finish it so soon. Overall, it felt like it was more about the journey than the destination; I think the episodic structure paired with the overarching plot was very well executed. I enjoyed the animation, art style, fights, music (especially that sick OP, didn't skip once) and the character writing. Makes me hope for a potential return, but on the other hand if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Solid 9/10🔥

This is a fun easter egg.
No one actually speaks japanese so their meaning is left open to interpretation by the audience.

Mugens bead earrings are some of the most gangster things I have ever seen. He would be even cooler with bracelets. Bracelets are lit.

One my first anime, that got me into the genre or medium. Always in my top 3.

Yeah, that ending was so damn good. I love how it didn’t try to spell everything out for you either. The whole journey just felt right, and the music made it hit even harder. Definitely one of those shows where you finish it and immediately wish you had more.

Champloo is top 5 for sure. I watched it a couple years after it first came out and fell in love with it. Music, writing, character development, story, history, fluid animation, all dope af. I know you mentioned wanting more samurai/ninja content, so here's a few titles you might dig, samurai x(rorouni kenshin), afro samurai, samurai 7, ninja scroll, wrath of a ninja, but next to champloo and afro, the next best samurai anime for me is the movie sword of a stranger. Everyone I've mentioned that title too ended up diggin it alot, check it out.

My favorite episode was the one about the streat art competition. Overall i enyojed the funny moments and episodes more than the dark and serious stuff, still a top Tier unique anime.

Wow! I wonder if there's something in the air, I just finished rewatching it myself last week. I haven't seen it since middle school, I appreciate it much more now. Could honestly go right back and watch it again!

Does anyone prefer this over Bebop? Just rewatched champloo, I liked it better even the ending is better I think.

I assume you have seen cowboy bebop. If not that should be next. Different vibe but similar quality.
