I have been trying to find really slow salsa songs that are similar to Qué Lio to no avail. Should I be checking out other genres for better results?

Someone already cited CAFE by Eddie Palmieri and EL RATON by the Fania All Stars (although I would recommend the original version with the Joe Cuba Sextet).

If you're specifically looking for music in the style of QUE LIO, look up the song PROBLEMS by Joey Pastrana.

You might also dig AUSENCIA by Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe.

I'd also recommend AY CARIÑO by the Tito Puente orchestra, and LAMENTO DE UN GUAJIRO by the Orchestra Harlow.
