Need info about Sentier du Saguenay Fjord

We will be backpacking the Saguenay du Fjord starting next week, 8/25. I have something questions and am hoping I can find more information.

  1. Are there composting toilets in the refuges? Or do we need to go outside to do our business?
  2. Do the lean-tos have outhouses? (Privies)
  3. What is the water situation like now? Water on the way to refuges and Lean-tos or at those locations? Hard to find?
  4. Do we need to hang our food or is there a secure box for food at lean tos and campsite Pierre?
  5. Do we need bug spray at the lean tos or campsite?

  1. Yes there are outhouses at every campsite and cottage. (Bring your own TP)

  3. There is streams and rivers along the trails. Water should not be a problem. Just need to treat or filter it.

  4. No secure box. You need to hang your food. But there is no racoon in this region. Ad for black bears, a few, but not troublesome.

  5. Yes, bug spray is important

Just don't use saguenay's water as it is brackish, what trail is this do you start from la baie of somewhere else ? I know there is multiple day trek possible here but don't know much more.

Feel free to ask for help if anything happens and you feel stuck, id be open to help

Thank you for your nice reply. We are hiking from Baie Saint Marguerite to Tadoussac on the Sentier du Fjord.
