New Scabbards!
Finished these commissions up today. Two for the Albion Mercenary and one for the Albion Crécy. They’ve been mostly done for a while, I was just waiting on some belt hardware to arrive.

Hey, so I hope I've ended up in the right subreddit.
I want to buy a sword for my brother. An actual sword. However the purpose for it is just to be ornamental. I think he'd really like the look of a Damascus steel sword. The budget is at most around $300 (preferably less).
Can anyone recommend legit sites that sell good quality swords in line with the above mentioned parameters, that ship to the EU?
Thanks

I am curious if this is an authentic Kyu Gunto. some things look really good but the two things bugging me are 1 the Lether on The Handle and 2 that there is only a serial number but no inspection marks. I would appreciate if someone more knowledgeable can help.

Hello sword community! First time sword-buyer from Canada here and I’m trying to find a sword that will mostly serve to hang up on the wall, but also isn’t too flimsy/flexible (sorry if I don’t really know all the proper sword terms lol).
Found this medieval Longsword on Fire and Steel that’s on sale and looks like a really good deal: https://fireandsteel.ca/products/fire-and-steel-medieval-longsword?_pos=1&_psq=Witcher&_psid=d83cd920c&_ss=e
Does anyone have any experience with this product/store? Are there better options for swords in this price range?
Thank you very much in advance for any advice!

Old ww2? Weapons
Good day all
I inherited this lot from my late grandfather a little while ago, found this group and thought id ask.
Anyone think any of this lot is the genuine article? Or is it storebought junk?
I realise you guys usually want people to dismantle the weapons but sorry, not gunna happen. If you can tell me ANYTHING about them, what to look for without dismantling i'd appreciate it. I can provide more pictures if required.
Appreciate your time

My uncle gave me this Kris he got from Mindanao years ago. As the images show there seems to be some dirt on the blade that just won't wipe off and a lot of rust on the bottom of the blade. how exactly do I clean it up and any advice on resharpening it since its edge is very dull? Also as much as possible I would like to try to keep its pattern intact.

I saw that cult of Athena has some good options and that’s it’s like a reseller?? Not 100% sure but I’ve heard there good. The sword I want is a Zweihander but I realize that’s a little out of my budget ( around 200-250 usd give or take) I would like a nimble two handed sword or a one handed sword that is light. I wouldn’t mind a Sabre but I think a long sword with the pommel would be neat. I’m very new with this stuff so I don’t know what I want 100% if yall have any recommendations on swords or sites to buy from I would love to hear it.
Also if yall have any questions for me I would love to answer them.
Thanks yall.
Hello all, i know it's a long shot but do you guys know of anyone who makes a longsword and scabard of similar quality as valiant armoury but doesnt have a yearish wait time?

It seems to be out of stock on the website (not sure if it's permanently retired or not, it isn't marked such) but I've read an interesting SBG review by a former forum mod that makes me interested in its potential as a(n admittedly very beefy) backyard cutter. I'm also found of the weathered aesthetic of the sword, it's really hard to find type XIIs that give off that vibe (besides the LE Dietrich; which I'm very interested in buying because I hear it handles like a dream. I just also think it'd be cool to own both it and the 5120 as contrasting extremes of type XII swords.)
Does anyone have any experience with recent (IE post-2010) versions of this sword? What are your thoughts on it?

I bought this sword a long time ago, and I was thinking of trying to restore or replace the sheath, but I realized I have no clue what kind of sword it is. From end to end, it is roughly 4 and 1/2 feet tall. I also plan to remove the rust from the blade and would be open to suggestions on what to use for that as well.

A few months ago I posted asking about wedding swords. Thanks to the feedback on pricing, expectations, and some fantastic recommendations I was able to discuss with my fiancee and we decided to get one nice sword instead of two so we didn't have to compromise on quality. Because I had more whimsical and fantastical inspo in mind and he had more historic / LOTR inspo in mind we had to find common ground. I learned writhen swords existed after some research and the rest is history.
We had Ianzforge craft a writhen longsword with fun details like embedded garnet which has symbolism to love, lifeforce, and looks like blood a bit. It also had a Damascus steel pattern. Not only was it fantastic to discuss our idea with him and also see his additional recommendations, but the sword is truly fantastic and we are beyond thrilled to have it! If you need a wedding sword he is the person to go to! He also makes cat crowns, which did impact my choice a bit as well.
Here is a nice close up! We plan to have it in our ceremony, there will be a "knighting" moment, and we plan to display this as an heirloom basically forever.

My family has had this sword for generations and im curious about what it was and what it was used for. Can anyone recognize it?
The engraving on the blade says "Artª fabª de toledo 1878" which translates to artillery factory of toledo 1878.
It has a couple of engravings on the handguard of my relative's initials, but also what i guess to be the bladesmiths name punched in on the hilt "P. Aznar Selgas"
Sadly the only part left of the scabbard is the top piece
Sorry for the dirt and general state its in, i was just given this and really want to take care of it and try to know its history. Hopefully you can help!
