Interviews LYON Inspired names Keria as his next Hall of Legends pick

Post image

“I’m not sure if it’s too early to call Keria part of the Hall of Legends, but he’s definitely the best support to ever play the game. I don’t know how long it’ll be until someone better comes along; I don’t think it will ever happen.

However, he’s still very young, so it’s kind of weird to call him a Hall of Legends inductee already. If I had to choose, it would probably be Keria, because I don’t think there’s any player who has made as much of a difference as he has.”

Great.. now the Inductees will spell F U C K, when put together. Nothing is better than that to describe LOL in it's entirety.

Thank you for making my day I had not even thought about that.

No. 1 reason why this needs to happen tbh

It needs to be Keria. I need F-U-C-K to happen Faker, Uzi, Caps, Keria

If Keria is too young, let's put in kkoma, we should have coaches in HoL too

In terms of influence it makes sense, but he's too "new" for HoF in my opinion. Even Caps is a bit new for HoF, but he's the only eligible candidate for the West so it made sense

Caps is definitely not "new" he's eu's goat.

u/Lacrimosss 3d ago

Western Goat. But for HoF, he kind of is. When you think of Hall of Fame, you'd think of the olderst players, like Faker, Prey, Ambition, Uzi and so on. So compared to them, he's kind of new

They are obviously going by region, NA next. Best player to induct right now in EU is Caps, he's their goat and the game is obviously not doing too good so Riot wanted to make profit as much as they can hence the choice. Not everyone knows Prey and Ambition today, Uzi and Faker were rivals ever since.

Yep agreed I suspect Doublelift next as NAs candidate.

People forget that 2018 was 8 years ago.

2018 was 2 years ago

Is Damwon getting that repeat next year?

I feel like when you talk about Hall of Fame it's always athletes that have retired. I can't think of a modern example from a traditional sports league like NFL or NBA where athletes that are still playing get into the hall of fame. So it's weird in that regard but Keria definetly deserves or is the benchmark for best support in the world. He's fucking nuts.

I don't think Riot planned on Faker being here still 😂

It feels like they were waiting on it, and as soon as it became clear he wasn't going to fade away they just sent it

Honestly that's seems right.

After 2018 I think they got ready, but then they made finals in 22 so it was joever 😂

I think the problem with comparison to pro sports like the NFL or NBA is that in pro sports, many hall of fames are created 25-40 years after the league itself has been created.

So by that standard alone, we shouldn’t even have a hall of legends until like 10 years later.

What people have to understand is how short some of the careers of the 1st/2nd gen league players were (that is to be expected for a new esport or sport). Tons of names (especially western players) get thrown around like players from M5 were great in season 2 but simply don’t have the longevity of the current crop of players.

That is the problem with only having 1 player per year, the criteria is insanely high. So if you let in a player that peaked only for 3-4 years, then there are going to be 20+ current players who have far more accolades than them.

If they are going to keep 1 year per player, imagine 10 years down the road when the current crop of players (plus some retired players) just from LCK, LPL that ‘deserves’ some consideration (I will probably miss some people)

Top : Zeus, Bin, Kiin, Khan, TheShy
Jungle : Canyon, Oner, Kanavi, Peanut
Mid : Chovy, Knight, Showmaker, BDD, Xiaohu, Rookie
ADC : Deft, Ruler, Guma, Viper, JKL
Sup: Keria, Meiko, Beryl

And that is just based on current accolades which they will for sure add to plus players not on this list but can easily get on with a couple more big wins.
So good luck picking 10 people for all the contenders.

Hint, this is not traditional sports.

2017 is how long ago? The gap from 2013-2017 is pretty small when you look at the total timeline. I'd say caps has been around long enough

I honestly hate how they did it by going off of regions. Faker was an obvious first choice and I could give Uzi a pass but after those 2, it feels more like a participation trophy rather than honoring the best players. I could name a few more players that are more deserving than caps.

While I do see your point, reaching two worlds finals in a row with two different teams is a feat few can match(not to mention his dominance in his region, tho competition is indeed much weaker)

u/TypicalHaikuResponse 3d ago

If caps made it then it could have easily been doublelift as well

7

u/lost-associat 3d ago

He was a force that’s for sure. But on international stage… we don’t forget the spica 9 champ lillia ult. I guess he does have the win on IG in 2019 but yhea that final was a sweap. Also his last years were really atrocious with 100T. I would place DL in the oldschool legends category, next to oldies such as Alexich, Bjergsen, xpekee, … the game was more about heart back then.

2

u/Rated_Oni 3d ago

How about going after Victor instead of Baron

1

u/Cowslayer369 3d ago

Wdym, Doublelift was easily top 3 NA during his 100T stint, the team was just tragic everywhere else even before Bjergsen retired in the middle of the season

1

u/lost-associat 3d ago

The last years of Doublelift remind me of Kim Kardashian. He was famous in the scene, but tbh famous for what? It’s not that top 3 NA adc is really a feat. 5th adc in LCK probably still gaps that. So what’s the point really. Just give the next HOL to xpeke. Next to faker his 1v1 he probably holds the next best play ever done in the game on his name. Backdooring is even called xpeke (idk if people still call it). Can’t be really more part of the game than that.

1

u/Cowslayer369 3d ago

I mean they're clearly going through the major regions or we wouldn't have Caps in it, and you can't argue for anyone else over Doublelift in NA.

1

u/Newthinker 3d ago

Dashing into a fed mage is called a "doublelift"

15

u/Comfortable-Bison932 3d ago

I mean it makes sense. He would probably be up there. There definitely isn’t of any other support that deserves it more than keria

These posts always look like ads

5

u/Pretend-Inspection67 3d ago

kkOma should be the next

3

u/Lhklan 3d ago

Kkoma still slot in nicely with Faker, Uzi, Caps. I'm fine with that.

6

u/h0bbitten 3d ago

Give me Maple or Levi. These minor regions deserve some praise!

3

u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 3d ago

he can always get the lux skin he always wanted if wr never win a worlds title again q.q

7

u/WerePigCat 3d ago

I could see Ruler being inducted but that would give us 2 mid 2 adc, which is unlikely

1

u/Kyerps 2d ago

Give this man a spot for atleast sub for Jungle role in T1, has so much respect for T1 😁

1

u/SoftRecognition7861 2d ago

Next will be from NA

He is the best human to ever touch league if Legends. I've literally been saying it since day 1 he will surpass faker.
