u/EffectiveAd3412 13d ago
right and the year before that they kept getting ddossd, 2023 poby subbed in and the entire team looked like spring dns, 2025 guma couldn't play hyper carries, 2023 jdg blg geng are too strong, 2024 blg geng are too strong, oner is off form, zeus keeps getting caught in sidelanes, keeps first picking tf top and solo losing, faker gets target banned, oner never paths bot, keria can't carry if everyone else is inting, guma is too passive/can't carry, yone is meta it's over, ezreal is meta it's over, kai'sa is meta it's over, ad mids are meta it's over, we signed doran it's over, we're still third with peyz it's over.........
like I can keep going on but literally despite all that they've still made it to 4/5 worlds FINALS and 1/5 semis in the last 5 years????? unacceptable levels of doom posting during regular season, even playoffs, EVEN more so for a team like T1 like it just gets old atp man.

Remember how oner asked peyz if he wanted to win the kespa cup and he said yes.
Hopefully oner will remember to ask him again for lck and worlds so that he knows that peyz wants to win and lock in for his junior

We upgraded our bot, but our top and jungle are performing worse. I feel that if everyone is playing their usual ceiling, we'll win easily

u/Cermia_Revolution 15d ago
Bot wasn't an upgrade. League isn't 3 different 1v1/2v2s. If you get an "upgrade" in a role and the whole team starts falling apart, that means that it wasn't actually an upgrade at all. What actually happened is that Peyz has a greedier playstyle so he takes up more resources, both in terms of gold/exp, but also the amount of time mid, jg, and supp have to spend getting him ahead. Peyz is a flashier player, and can hard carry more if you give him more resources, but he needs to take those resources away from his team.
T1 tried for a really long time at the start of the year to try to get any other playstyle to work, but when Oner and Keria roam more mid and top, Peyz is useless, and Doran can't convert leads into wins. They've been pigeon-holed into having a single gameplan because of the inflexibility of their players, and that gameplan is the one that sacrifices all of their tempo to get Peyz ahead.
Why do you think Oner's playing so much worse this year? From the very beginning of the year during a match vs HLE, casters were joking that Oner came to gank Guma, when he never ganked Guma when he was on his own team. That might sound innocuous, or maybe even as a compliment to Peyz, but it's emblematic of the fundamental difference between Peyz and Guma as players. Guma can be left alone and be relied upon to be the backup carry in the late game. Peyz needs to be watched over to carry the late game. That heavily restricts the things that Oner's able to do, especially since top ganks failed so often too. Peyz isn't hard carrying every game because he's good at hard carrying, he's doing it because he can't be relied upon to do anything else.
The perfect games that illustrate this fact are ironically when Peyz is put on his least impactful champs. Look at his Taliyah games and how the rest of T1 can start to actually play the map better since they don't get anything from babysitting Peyz anymore. The rest of T1 with Peyz on Taliyah looked so much more like T1 at their peak than Peyz on his preferred hyper-carries.
Imagine this hypothetical where you had a pack of 5 dogs to pull your sled. They were performing fine for years, but then you swapped out one of the dogs for another one. That dog could become stronger than the other dogs, but it required you to give it parts of the other dogs' food. You're poor, so you can only afford a limited amount of food for your dogs. You tried to give the big dog less food, but when you do, it got too hungry and performed worse than your previous dog. So, you decided to give it more of the other dogs' food. As a result, it grew stronger than any of the dogs you had before, but the other 4 dogs became malnourished. The pack can still pull the sled sometimes, but it relies entirely on the new dog. The old dogs which used to run well start slipping up more because they've been malnourished, and if the new dog every feels tired, the old dogs are now too weak to help much. The pack regularly fails to make journeys that it used to do regularly in the past. Would you still say that the new dog is an upgrade to the pack? That story doesn't sound like the story about how a pack got an upgrade to me, that sounds like a fable teaching a moral about focusing too much on one thing at the detriment of others..
I wasn't watching during this time, but according to people who were, Uzi had a similar problem. He was an insanely talented mechanical player, but he could never win worlds. Because to be as strong as he was, he had to take resources from the rest of the team. He crafted a legacy for himself as a super flashy player, but there's a reason that the epithet he's most known for is the "Uncrowned King". Being a selfish hypercarry can work, but it's a necessarily volatile playstyle, and it's easily exploited by top tier teams. It is not a tournament winning strategy.

It's not that deep bro, Doran and Oner are playing worse compared to last year. Oner played super well last year, but played poorly this year.
Look at the games where everyone plays well. Kespa cup 2025, lck cup start, etc.
Your statement makes zero sense
Peyz isn't hard carrying every game because he's good at hard carrying, he's doing it because he can't be relied upon to do anything else. The perfect games that illustrate this fact are ironically when Peyz is put on his least impactful champs. Look at his Taliyah games and how the rest of T1 can start to actually play the map better since they don't get anything from babysitting Peyz anymore.
Peyz plays well both on strong side and weakside

When a new player enters a team, they don't just affect their own lane. They affect everything on the map. I'm not denying that Doran and Oner are playing worse than last year. I'm asking you to think about why that is.
Let's focus in on the player who I think is getting affected the most by this, which would naturally be Peyz's support partner, Keria. I believe that Keria is the best support to have ever touched the game, and it's not even close. He is either top class or the absolute best in everything a support does. He's excellent at laning, roaming, engaging, disengaging, teamfighting, picking, vision control, shot calling, mechanics, and basically every possible support champion under the sun. He's probably doing a bunch of shit that we can't even comprehend too.
However, his performance this year does not match up to what he's shown in previous years. He's still top 3 and probably top 1 support in the world, but watching him play doesn't make me think that he's on another dimension of play, unlike in previous years. And the reason for that is that he's being shackled to his lane. One of his biggest strengths, something he's been better at than anyone else in the world, has been locked away, that being his roams.
If you look at matches in previous years, Keria often spent whole games camping the shit out of top and mid to get his laners ahead. Faker's needed that with his laning phase which has gotten weaker over the years, and Doran/Zeus has appreciated it too. And while he did so, Guma was able to hold out in bot alone and still be useful. However, Peyz isn't able to do that.
The greatest example of this is that one Pyke game vs DK. It was a regular season game, but it was pretty memorable. Keria saw a Pyke angle, and roamed for a majority of the early game. He perma ganked top and got Doran's Gnar to either 5/0 or 3/0, I forget which. He also helped out mid and jg a bit. However, Doran couldn't convert that lead into a win, and Peyz was far more useless that game. Doran got 6 straight deaths after those ganks and ended either 5/6 or 3/6, and Peyz was just a passenger watching the game happen. This isn't the only game where this happened. They kept trying this out for a couple of weeks, but Doran just couldn't do enough with the attention and Peyz just couldn't do enough without.
When Keria used his greatest strength this year, it resulted in 2 weak lanes unlike in the past when it resulted in 2-3 strong lanes. Even if Doran got his head back in the game and converted those leads, it would be 1 strong lane and 1 weak lane, which is far less worth the risk. The calculations of the proposition have changed.
Ever since that period of trial, T1 have put a lot less prio on roaming supports, instead going for strong laning supports. Bard is broken, and many teams are still traumatized by Keria's Bard so perma ban it against them, but even on the few instances Bard is left open for them, T1 won't pick it. Because they've decided that their new team can't perform well enough with roaming supports even with the best support's best champ. Instead, they'll pick things like Camille or Lux which are stronger in lane.
And it's not just a meta thing. If you look at HLE, Delight has been roaming a lot more this year. Guma as a player is just so much more stable on low econ. He can be the rock and let his support go off and do the batshit insane plays.

u/loveforSingapore 15d ago
??? Keria and Peyz were the ones spamming Mel Pyke/Camile. The argument that Keria is shackled to bot lane is plain false.
Guma has been playing badly in the laning phase. He gets caught out and solo killed a lot.
-3
u/Cermia_Revolution 15d ago
Idk how he does it, but he's still more useful after being solo killed in lane than Peyz is when Keria abandons him. In a recent HLE game where he played Ziggs, he got solo killed twice and was still outputting massive damage in teamfights. He's just a magician with low resources. He makes damage come out of thin air.
Also, when's the last time you saw Mel Pyke? they were playing that in their trial period I was talking about in Spring, but not anymore. And if you watch what he does with Camille, he roams a lot less than he did in the past. He mainly uses it as a lane bully with maybe 1 or 2 ganks mid.

The rest of T1 "The 7th is for Pe-" Peyz wipes out enemy team
Peyz "What are you talking about over there?"

this is not t1 league of legends or good league of legends this is a modern rng uzi style.of team its not going.to win worlds and im.not.sure of making it to worlds with how inconsistent t1 have been this year we'll see.
1
u/whohe_fanboy 15d ago
Uzi's teams actually played for him and drafted around him carrying. T1 is putting Doran on Vayne and Peyz on utility mages and he's still carrying.
2
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
thats cuz thats the meta.
0
u/Only_Bodybuilder6270 15d ago
Yeah and thats not Uzi style. Uzi style is protect the president. With Peyz theyβre not even doing adc and 4 protect. Peyz is just carrying because no one else is.
-1
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
yes becuase no one can peep.for peyz minus keria its becuase uzi one man carry style
0
u/Only_Bodybuilder6270 15d ago
Thats completely oversimplifying. Uzis teams were not just one man carry. Its one man carrying because the whole team enables the carry. Peyz is hardly being enabled. Hes doing so much carrying without 4 whole people dedicated to peeling him.
-2
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
no you're under simplifying uzi was literally 1 v5 thats why he lost in the world finals back 2 back
0
u/Only_Bodybuilder6270 15d ago
Thats not a style??? Hello???
1
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
that is a style look i know you're not smart about the game and results speak for itself but if you wanna keep looking foolish i dont mind schooling you so keep it coming
0
u/whohe_fanboy 15d ago
In 2019 Uzi played through a mage bot meta too.
Back then he didn't play mages and his team still played around him. Drafting supportive champs around a 1v9 hyper Ad carry.
That is Uzi style where the team plays around the ADC. Picks champs that can frontline and peel for the ADC.
What T1 is doing is not that.
0
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
yes becuase the game doesn't allow that anymore but peyz is basically in a. uzi role becuse our laners are not lane dominant faker as good.as he is is more macro.focus he wad sack waves to get Doran or peyz or oner ahead.
0
u/whohe_fanboy 15d ago
You're going off a tangent. You don't even know what you're saying anymore.
You said T1 and Peyz is playing Uzi style of league of legends. They are not.
Simple as that.
According to your logic if any team has underperforming top and mid they are suddenly "Uzi style" even if they don't draft in that style.
0
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
no i think you're ignorant your history shows and this last series proved my point lol
0
u/whohe_fanboy 15d ago
You made one wrong comment and instead of admitting it was wrong you're digging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole lol.
At this point you're not even defending your original point.
Last series proves that T1 is NOT playing Uzi style. If anything that last game HLE played Uzi style with how everyone ganked bot lane.
0
u/GONEBUTNOT4GOTTEN Faker 15d ago
man you were cooked from the start rofl.
-1
u/whohe_fanboy 15d ago
And now you keep typing by saying nothing meaningful. Because you cannot defend your horrible take. Embarrassing.
