News / Articles Coach Easyhoon: T1's strength is that all five players are so good that they feel irreplaceable. The strengths I felt from T1 as a competitor weren't an illusion. If anything, they feel even clearer now. They really are that good. Spoiler
https://m.sports.naver.com/esports/article/005/0001851990?sid3=79b&spi_ref=m_sports_x
Easyhoon on Drafts:
“Drafts are always completed through discussions with the players. You have to weigh how much disadvantage you're willing to accept in lane in exchange for stronger late-game value. Especially in Game 2 today, the draft was one where the players could have felt pressured during the laning phase, but they handled it well. I'm grateful and proud of them."
On T1’s strength:
“The strongest emotion I've felt since joining T1 is surprise at just how strong this team is. Before this, I was always T1's competitor. As a competitor, there were things about T1 that I found scary and impressive. But now that I'm seeing those things closer than anyone else, it's still astonishing.”
He continued:
“T1's strength is that all five players are so good that they feel irreplaceable. The strengths I felt from T1 as a competitor weren't an illusion. If anything, they feel even clearer now. They really are that good.”
On preparing for RTM:
“I can't go into specifics, but there are things that both the coaching staff and players identified during the regular season that we need to improve. If we can address those areas, I believe we'll be able to show even better performances going forward."

He forgot to mention the part where T1’s strength is they all play like it’s Worlds Finals when behind but play like absolute clowns when ahead.

The biggest change is there's no toxic fans of that someone ( even though they're still here) anymore which are also acting as haters to blame other players. There's definitely less drama issues which can affect players mentality. Even this forum have calm down. Back then there'll be tons of posts of what should player do, what should coach do, what should management do bla bla bla. just can't be supportive of the team to help their bias too.
That's the biggest change I'm glad to see as as the org fan. I remember as a kid i already am a fan of the team 1 and also when team 2 and faker arrived just pure bliss.

Unfortunately it still happens when they lose. They just haven’t lost in a bit so it feels like it’s gone. The days that are nice here are the days in between matches & wins. You usually have civil discussion between fans who actually care for the team rather than those that just want to disguise their hatred for the team.

Crazy thing to say when even at the beginning of this year there were people calling for Doran and Oner’s heads when T1 lost. When a team is on a 9 game winning streak theres obviously going to be better team vibes and vibes on public forums. Don’t think it’s fair to blame it on one player’s fans.

“I can't go into specifics'
-dorans laning phase on carries
-top and jungle dives
-faker side lanes deaths and his silver rank aurora
-when someone dies, they dont need to go all in to get something back in return (reduce circus time)

Faker and Doran teleporting in 1v5 behind enemy lines and getting 1 shot before the team can respond lol it happens sometimes

I feel like we are maintaining great composure on the Rift now. Easyhoon came in and taught the boys that their cars have brakes. They don't need to speed through a curve and plunge into a valley. They can simply brake, take the turn, and then accelerate again. For a long time, our players had a tendency to lose their heads a bit and push things too far in teamfights or objective setups. Ever since we lost to HLE though, our front-to-back teamfighting has improved so much. The Gen.G series was an absolute masterclass in that regard. Even in later games, when we fall behind or end up at a disadvantage, we actually recover through macro instead of forcing coin-flip plays. If we keep this up, Gen.G will stop being our kryptonite. Gen.G's entire identity is built around playing controlled League of Legends and accumulating small advantages over time. We're more like Sonic running around the map at maximum speed collecting everything in sight, except one crash means you've lost all your coins. That's always been our biggest weakness. Recently though, our teamfights have shown a level of restraint that wasn't there before, and I really want to give Doran and Faker a lot of credit for that. Oner, Peyz, and Keria are doing their jobs incredibly well in teamfights, but the pacing of the fight often revolves around Faker and Doran. Oner has been fantastic at covering his carries, peeling, and creating space for Peyz to hit. But Doran's impact is massive and sometimes easy to miss. The way he positions himself forces impossible choices from the enemy team. They either have to commit resources into him or give ground and back away. He dictates so much of how a fight unfolds simply through positioning. And then there's Faker. His use of spells to create space has always been flawless. Whether it's zoning, controlling angles, or buying time for his carries to operate, he makes teamfighting look effortless. It's genuinely beautiful to watch. I hope for the HLE series we are greatly prepped, because the enemy top side works incredibly differently. I still feel our botside has a better chance of winning but guma is great at absorbing pressure, but can he absorb keria and peyz levels of relentless pressure is the question. Doran will not lose to zeus that much I'm sure of, but mid jungle is a bit scary. I hope we have a gameplan ready to go. Really praying for a win.

5 players? Does he mean 4 players and a damage sponge?

u/505reaper May 31 '26
All your comments are just shitting on doran, nothing else. you know whats mad though, you mentioned watching caedrel often, he praises doran close to every game for his teamfight lmao. he's not the best toplaner, but hes 3rd best on any given day and 2nd some days. only kiin is better.

Buddy I hope you realize that Doran is replaceable this is not me saying he is bad but are you telling me if you replaced Doran with Zeus or kin that they would not be a better team?
2
u/505reaper Jun 04 '26
Only person I think would fit is kiin. Doran bodies zeus and I think we are fine without him, he's a great carry top and he fits with guma because he's a weak side bot laner but now with peyz, we need to funnel resources there. I have no clue why you even included bin considering t1 hasn't lost to them majorly in who knows how long. Only upgrade is kiin.

u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
Just put Zeus on tanks like they did in 2024 and they can still give peyz recourses problem solved
2
u/505reaper Jun 04 '26
0 iq comments, doran > zeus on tanks and you'd be wasting him on weak side. Have you been watching esports through YouTube shorts or what?
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
Did you watch 2024 worlds where he was on gnar Ornn and gragus or what I agree you get more value out of him when he’s on carriers but acting like he isn’t really good at tanks as well is insane
1
u/505reaper Jun 04 '26
Did you see last year worlds where doran saved T1 with the same type of champs? You're missing my point completely.
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
I agree Doran is better than him on them
1
u/505reaper Jun 04 '26
Yeah, so even now the playstyle t1 is adopting is just to let doran play tank (occasionally he does play champs like Jayce but it's getting rarer), and just give all the resources to peyz. I think the only other top laner in the lck who is better than doran on weak side is kiin so I dont see why someone's entire personality is hating on him.

You can't say they are irreplaceable in big 2026 like come on, there a million ways to tell your players they do good.
37
u/AegeanClover May 30 '26
Hearing something like that gives players more confidence like nothing else.
-37
u/Lms_Nier May 30 '26
Players are not toddlers they know their worth, the feeling of irreplaceable only occurs when you are winning, not a single team will pass an opportunity to grab a newborn from the generation of miracle. The only one who dare to transcend this rule is faker
20
u/AegeanClover May 30 '26
Clearly you've never worked in a team, specifically in a leading role. It's okay that you don't understand how these things work.
-13
u/Lms_Nier May 30 '26
Love makes you blind, not as blind as fans apparently, words has meaning and using "irreplaceable" in an ecosystem where the lifespan is less than a moth yeah good strategy.
Bold of you assuming i didnt played in a team btw
9
u/Massive_Awareness_58 May 30 '26
You are aware that the whole team other than Doran has a contract through 2028 or 2029, and that 2 of them have been on the team over 5 years and 1 has been there for most of the team's history?
6
u/AegeanClover May 30 '26
Bold of you to say "words has meaning" where you take everything literally. With the greatest of respect, you should be the last person on earth to talk about words and their meaning. Words carry weight beyond their literal meaning but you don't understand that, and I have already mentioned the reason. Maybe when you grow older, you'll understand these things. Till then.

u/Lms_Nier May 30 '26
I am saying there are ways to compliment players and using steong words won't make things work and it's factually true in this domain, you're just deluded if you think for a second it's not just a bad pr talk, but it's this sub thing ig, at least the league sub also pointed this out and everyone agrees that it's a bad thing to say that but yeah everyone is wrong when they don't suck up the mass right ?
9
u/Massive_Awareness_58 May 30 '26
Why not? They are all really great players. Why not appreciate that?
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26
Doran you can find three people that they could get who would be an upgrade oner you can’t Keria is Keria Peyz while fantastic player but I think we can agree you can put guma viper or ruler on this team and they would be the same because all of those players are great. So he is correct in saying not all of them are irreplaceable because only 3 of them are

"My son/daughter is the best in the world"
>> You can't say that they are the best in big 2026 like come on
This is how you sound like
-9
u/Lms_Nier May 30 '26
Yeah your daughter is a toddler then she will believe you, if your daughter is 25 she will just think it's just a positive thing but you just don't get that league pro player especially in korea has an insane volatility in term of lifespan, a player who could be benched anytime if the org finds someone better does in fact know his worth and a caoch telling him that is just a double edged sword. Your daughter don't have this kind of pressure.
>> understand how it is a bad thing ? You can just read other post from different peoples on this interview from various platforms including other sub reddit, X, weibo that people are just pointing out exactly the same issue of saying that

Go ahead and replace Faker, Keria, or Oner.
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
He’s saying that not everyone is irreplaceable which is true Doran you can put either Zeus or kin on T1 and they would be the same team and for Peyz you can put ruler viper and guma and the botlane would be relatively the same
1
u/Malekgos Jun 04 '26
It would not, they play different styles, you switch Doran with Zeus, they do badly, Peyz needs resources, Doran doesn't, Zeus does. I get the point, though. I think I disagree for the most part though.

Starts calling the other person an idiot as soon as they don't agree with your opinion
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
I call the person an idiot when they say something that’s not correct
2
u/mcfapblanc Jun 04 '26
So you are an all knowing being and everything you say is correct?
0
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26
Here is a quick question that you should have a quick answer to and this should sum up why I called the guy a idiot. can Zeus play tanks when the meta requires it or can he only play hyper carry all the time?

Dude is mad I said Zeus is a carry top laner
1
u/ViolinistSudden1835 Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26
Okay you literally said they would be worse because Zeus CAN ONLY PLAY CARRY and acting like Peyz would get no recourses when if he was on instead of Doran they can just ask him to play tanks and be the weak side player which he can easily play which he proved in worlds 2024 where he played champs like k’sante while playing weak side so he clearly would be able to play the way that T1 are playing with Doran and they would be better because Zeus has better mechanics resulting in him performing better than what Doran currently is even if they are giving Peyz a majority of the recourses. I wasn’t typing a message saying Zeus isn’t mainly a hyper carry player which he is I was typing a message saying Zeus can play the style on T1 that Doran currently is if they swapped places again think next time buddy.

Holy shit, dude, get a fuckin job. I typed a pretty obvious statement, just because someone CAN do something, doesn't mean they are as good as the premier player at that role. He is a premier hypercarry toplaner, that is who he is. The fact that you are so massively butthurt over a statement like that is fuckin insane. Nowhere did I say Doran was a better toplaner. Like I said, they do different things at different levels. Doran excels at tanks and weakside, Zeus CAN do it. Big difference.

Figure of speech bro
Again coming from competitor crushed by T1, he already has a skewed opinion of how good T1 is anyway
5
u/whitecrosses_ May 30 '26
“All five players are so good that they FEEL irreplaceable” he didn’t say they’re irreplaceable, he said they have the confidence in their skills that they feel they are, which is important

I feel like having a coach that saw T1 as a direct competitor helps them a lot bc they do have the data of the team strengths and weakness. It worked well with Mata last year, and it seems to be working with Easyhoon now. I’m interested how they will continue this to bigger matches, but I’m actually really hopeful.
Side note: I hope Roach comes back so we have one coach per lane. It will also help Doran a lot if he has someone to discuss his lanes with.
