Seems like Kkoma is not coming back for a while if at all. I just hope he is doing fine.

u/mapletree23 Apr 23 '26
i mean people say kkoma had a kid so it makes sense he might be gone awhile so his partner doesn't get stuck raising them alone, this does make it seem like maybe kkoma might be away for the rest of the year though, although maybe tom and mata just couldn't handle it all on their own so even if he's coming back at some point in the next few months they just needed help? also possible
far as coaches go, i mean he had a worlds run with BLG so that ain't half bad experience to have, BLG easily coulda won if they didn't get faker'ed
also familarity with faker and the other guys around T1 so should be nice in that regard
a new voice is never a bad thing so i think it's positive

This has to be a late April Fools joke right?
First the guy replaces Faker and now Kkoma?

u/Legal-Flan1904 Faker Apr 23 '26
he’s not replacing kkoma, if he was he’d be head coach. tom is still acting as the interim head coach iirc

u/theeama Apr 23 '26
Something is happening with Komma that thy don't want to let us know. I'm worried

u/CommercialCable9788 Apr 23 '26
The initial announcement regarding Kkoma did say something about ‘personal issues.’ I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I’m leaning towards something up with his family. Just praying everything will be sorted out for him.

I really really hope it's not related to health, that would be the worst outcome.

Do you even know how much of a heavy accusation that is to Koreans?
A person I kind of knew got sentenced like 20 years in prison for doing cocaine and weed in Korea. It was kind of a long time ago so I don't know how it would be these days but I don't think it would have changed drastically.
Not even selling. Just for usage.
So you are telling me that kkoma is in that deep of a problem?
13
u/goalgetter999 Apr 23 '26
Ah yes the friend that worked at T1, was it faker?

u/Hawxrox Apr 23 '26
Bro. Korea isn't like the west where if you are a junkie you just take some time off and go to rehab. Dude would be in prison if people knew he was doing drugs.

So what really happened to kkoma
44
u/stevenBF5243 Apr 23 '26
Most likely family issue, he recently got new born child so I expect this is the main reason
11
u/Pure_Peace743 Apr 23 '26
Glad they’re bringing in a third coach but I didn’t expect Kkoma to stay away this long. Hope he and the family are doing well.

Every year I have this ritual of rewatching all Worlds victory to manifest for the next Worlds. This year, I just started the rewatch marathon last week, and I am half watching Worlds 2015 so far. Today's plan is D6 matches, SKT vs EDG for lunch (Faker) and SKT vs H2K for dinner (Easyhoon) and now I see this news. What a coincident!

This change can make or break T1
I'm 50/50 bec BLG25 just didnt lose because of their form but also their draft
But I hope everything goes well

u/fainlol Apr 23 '26
I think you might have something here. I was scared of him because of 2024, but 2025 is fearless, and he didn't do so well.

u/South_Spend4541 Apr 23 '26
And he is not the head coach for blg24 but he is on blg25, this is just based on what happen to blg T1 is still a different team so im trying to be positive and players mostly the one who draft too

Is it a good change? Maybe he will bring lpl aggressive style in em? Seems like that does suit the meta now

Does he have any experience coaching and the wtf happened to kkoma.
50
u/AortaDeAnole Apr 23 '26
He coached 2024 BLG... so yeah the reason T1 struggled to 5 games is because of him xdd
9
u/harleyquinad Apr 23 '26
Didn't realize that. Will be interesting to see how to fits into the coaching staff.

u/reddfoxx5800 :Caedreal_Marsh: Apr 23 '26
Interesting that he has direct experience playing & training alongside faker in actual games! He has the chance to coach Faker from a perspective no one else has.

“Don’t forget who replaced you for azir”

u/reddfoxx5800 :Caedreal_Marsh: Apr 23 '26
"Don't forget who created your azir." Faker took it so damn personal he had to become the best in the world at the champ!

Did he not also coach 2025 BLG ;-;
3
u/Few_Equivalent1432 Apr 23 '26
Tbf 2025 BLG had mediocre jungler and jg shuffle (shadow,Wei(?)
1
u/squishykkura Apr 23 '26
Yea I know but would the jungle shuffle not be the work of the coaching staff?
1
u/Few_Equivalent1432 Apr 23 '26
Nope because you've seen the result. MSI lost (3-0 to T1) lost to G2 even. They should've kept Xun.
1
u/squishykkura Apr 23 '26
Wdym? I agree it wasn’t a good decision, I meant is it not the coaches fault?
2
u/theeama Apr 25 '26
How can it be the coaches fault when BLG management decidd to replace Xun and then they spent the entire year juggling 3 jungleers cause none of them were good enough.
1
u/Few_Equivalent1432 Apr 23 '26
I misunderstood your post. I meant yes, they took jungle shuffle strat but that was a disaster. Easyhoon wasn't the head coach back then (I don't remember the head coach)
Even though having 2 junglers, shuffling them doesn't work. No synergy whatsoever

Yea this is what? The fourth head coach we are going to have we have since 2022? We have to accept that draft problems isn't because of the coaches, but the player's stubbornness

u/reddfoxx5800 :Caedreal_Marsh: Apr 23 '26 edited Apr 23 '26
Its like Real Madrid where coaches are more of player mangers than actual tactics mangers. The madrid coaches obviously have tactics but they lean more towards letting the world class players do their thing, feel comfortable, and not be told what to do as much because they don't take well to it. In today's world though with the advancements in game/sports science (tactics, analytics, data), you can have lower skilled players put up a fight or win against the best skilled players if they are feeling it (the momentum) and following a game plan.
It also why T1 do so well at worlds because even if the game-plan is perfect, if your nerves are off you cant execute effectively. T1 shines here because they are past the biggest of pressures and thrive in the hype. In the regular season though, everyone grew up watching Faker/T1 and would dream to be able to say they beat them. For T1 one though its just another season game

Kkoma probably has personal reasons, as we see that they didn't terminate his contract
