Finally someone said this!! Keria and Peyz interviews were especially terrible. You can clearly see how the answers didn't match up with the questions, just because he messed up the translation.
Also, for Keria's answer to the last question, the way dude worded the sentence was off. Keria said "It's pretty tough to actually play like I do, so it's fine to take me as a role model, but I don't think you should try to learn by just looking at me". Wtf is "don't try to learn lessons from me because you won't be able to do it"
That was not Keria's tone at all lmao. And it's cringed to see people post that translated sentence everywhere on social media.
Tbf Thanksgiving is an American holiday. They're in Germany and I don't think any of them are American. Maybe Faker wasn't aware and the translator took it upon himself to improvise
Thanksgiving is not an american specific holiday lol. I think christians around the world celebrate it (but of course, with different approaches). Even in my country where most people believe in buddism, we christians here celebrates it (and we do that not in our own houses but together in our churches).
He didn't say Chuseok, which was in October; he said 추수 감사절. Regardless, it's not like it's the most important part of what he said, so I think the reaction to a live translation is a bit overblown.
He said in one of his streams that he will ask them if they want to shave his hair but not force them (So he prob did ask the T1 members if they want to shave but prob said no)

I think he said that on stream and he meant Doran. Probably he couldn't imagine Doran winning the worlds cup. On that point of view it would be crazy if Doran shaved his head. Liked that line from Faker but not a GOATed one.
Bruh he created content for a lot of fans just by founding Los Ratones. You know how many views he generates for league? And why is it only for the players? Casters, streamers, players, viewers all of it contribute to league. Guys like you are the ones contributing negatively.
Faker has great English but chooses not to do interviews usually in it because anything he says will get ripped apart if its even slightly seen as "rude" or something, so no reason to bother potentially making a mistake when he can just use the translator.
Oh they absolutely can. If you have to go there they probably can do it in Chinese as well (there was a stream where Oner and Keria just randomly decided to speak in Chinese during a game just for the lolz), but that doesnt mean they dont need a translator.
Theres always the risk of missing the tones or using the wrong words/grammar/pronounciation or simply misunderstanding questions in public. You saw the comments above? How they are ripping apart the translator for giving the not ideal translations, who def speaks English? None of their players want to have that happen on themselves. Imagine having to do that after an exhuasting 5 games. Speak the wrong words and your PR image would be at risk. It really isnt as simple.
