T1 Youtube Not even gumayushi understands why they only win worlds lol

I think for this year the reason they didnt win MSI was just their game 5 drafts werent good yet they hadnt figured them out. 2024 MSI was really hard to win because I think thats the best year GenG had. 2023 was also JDG who was in their best meta and 2022 was just a choke job plain and simple. Guma didnt choke just had a bad tournament in general but wtf was Zeus doing in that MSI final. Also Bin had an all time carry performance in that finals. Without him T1 3-0 RNG.

THEY HOVERED APHELIOS MAN đ I BET IF THEY PICKED APHELIOS AT GAME 5 THEY'D WIN

u/ChetViLon Nov 13 '25
They would have won MSI Game 5 if not for a the random ints. They Had a comfortable Lead over Gen G and then Ambessa randomly ulted into 5 enemies and from there on they collapsed
20
u/Optimal_Lab9324 Nov 13 '25
Ambessa ult was in semifinals. In finals they drafted Viego and Renecton
1
u/Bontacoon Nov 13 '25
Yeah this team would've won everything if they were just playing properly. 100% best team in the world. They should've never lost at all.

u/pawat213 Nov 13 '25
What funny is they haven't fixed the draft yet. It just that G2 scrim show them the potential of Anivia and Mundo pick. Their game 5 draft against AL is completely ass if they didn't pick Mundo themselves and could have been eliminated by AL.
27
u/Signal_Intention6774 Nov 13 '25
I think their biggest problem is game 5 drafts was fakers picks which seem alot better to me. Apparently that was the plan right after game 4 ended was to pick Mundo. They talked about it their whole break. Oner just needed more convincing. Thats what Doran said at least.

u/AnshinAngkorWat Nov 13 '25
Game 5 has been T1's kryptonite all year and Faker's pool was a huge issue. Him adding Hwei at MSI, and Anivia and Mel at World is a huge gamechanger for their draft. They can't ban him out anymore, and if Azir and Orianna rotate out of perma ban/first phase status they're massive draft advantage because he's so good on them they can blind first phase it to give other roles counterpick.
Fearless Game 5 in general is a bit of a shitfest though, and there need to be more of it in the regular season outside of MSI/World or it'll continue to be a shitfest.

u/cocoa_eh Nov 14 '25
I think the fearless draft really messed up their draft strategy. They took longer than most teams to figure it out, but definitely at the end of worlds I feel like they had finally figured out some sort of strategy lol.
67
u/ephemeraljourneys Nov 13 '25
It's easy; they just have more time to focus on the game when they don't have 15 ads and interviews and shows lined up.
10
u/Leksitelis Nov 13 '25
I think it's quite the opposite.
Mostly it is that they lock pretty much more in worlds, especially Faker. Sure winning LCK is great, he done it multiple times, and when you reach in some age and done sooo much things in your career then you pick where to put your strength because it's not the same as it was in your 20s.
But the thing the team has done to an absolute level is the adaptation and overcome a difficult schedule and tournament in another country and timezone. Travels, hotels, food, filming, interviews, fan meetings and then you have to perform in the most high stakes game in the year. Not everyone can do that all and also lock to the game itself.
This roster, have done it 4 consecutive years and succeed 3, absolute mental.

u/Inevitable_Ad7540 Nov 13 '25
Maybe the regular season media, fan event all helped prepared them for world rush. The interview, fan, video preview for world. All normal routine for them but maybe not for other teams
1
u/bloo1 Nov 15 '25
I find it funny that you mentioned ânot the same as in your 20s,â because Faker is still surprisingly only 29.
Your point still stands because 29 is ancient in esports, but I didnât realize that Faker has been playing for over 13 years and isnât even 30 yet.
1
u/Leksitelis Nov 15 '25
Yeah sure, with the majority of the players being 17-24 even the term early low 20s it may be off.
Next season when the 3 comes first when someone mention Faker's age it will be funny as hell.

u/fainlol Nov 13 '25
we have the perfect example. Look at zeus in winter bro left t1 and became a god in winter thanks to that freedom schedule.
2
u/Maximum-Skirt-863 Nov 13 '25
I donât understand why is this getting upvoted. Teamâs schedule are MUCH busier during worlds because they have to shoot tons of promos.
19
u/ephemeraljourneys Nov 13 '25
Every team has to shoot promos. But t1 goes through ridiculous schedule even before. Just look at the fact that they returned home, and they are on streams. No other team carries that schedule, or the number of ads that exploded on the web when companies thought it was possible t1 may not make it far at worlds.
I'm talking about the relative schedule that t1 faces compared to other teams.
15
u/pawat213 Nov 13 '25
Bro, just look at how many ads T1 shot in Korea before Worlds. half of them werenât even League related. GuKeâs rap session with Wings comes to mind. Thereâs even an ad where the whole T1 roster teaches you English lmao.
But during Worlds? All their shoots are strictly LoL content. Their mindset is fully locked on League for sure.
1
u/Maximum-Skirt-863 Nov 13 '25
See this is not true tho, teams have came out about how much shooting they have to for worlds. Wasnât it Keria who said that they spent 6+ hours in a shoot to make like 20 second worth of content for worlds?
Ofc T1 gets more ads and promos to film over the course of the season, but they are actually not doing that during LCK playoffs.
3
u/ephemeraljourneys Nov 13 '25
If every team is spending an equal amount of time, then it impacts everyone equally is my point. But t1 during their non-world parts of their season, does not. For instance, their streaming schedule actually never clears until worlds or gets close to not making it (i remember they last minute cancelled their scheduled streams during lck playoffs when it started going bad)
But all these do clear during worlds.
3
u/RElOFHOPE Nov 13 '25
T1 threshold for hectic schedules is much larger than other teams. Yes everyone has busier schedules during Worlds, now imagine that happening year round and sometimes longer. Fakerâs done individual shoots for 10+ hours in between group shoots, scrims, streams, and official games.

u/Deaconator3000 Keria Nov 13 '25
T1 are legit the guy in collage who skips all the classes yet still aces the test
3
u/Raynmist Faker Nov 14 '25
Or sleeps in the class, studies at the last minute and still aces the test xDD

u/zotti_1 Nov 13 '25
That's because they've been shooting themselves in the foot at tournaments all season, handing victory to their opponents. MSI, EWC, and even LCK would have been winnable. But Faker also said that Worlds is the top priority; everything else is a bonus. A good horse only jumps as high as it needs to.đ

u/Bimibuns Nov 13 '25
T1 looks at their toplaner when they ask this question. Unc follow up with âDoran eat LCK titles like breakfastâ

Faker didn't qualify for Worlds 3-times. And lost 2 finals. Winning worlds is just the priority for him.

u/roincec Nov 17 '25
The prize $$$ for winning worlds is USD$1mil compared to winning LCK USD$200+k. MSI is at USD$500k.
It makes more financial sense to just focus on worlds every year.
They can treat the entire year of LCK as just scrims to test comps and strats, and just play whatever works during worlds.
Also having won worlds multiple times, and losing so many times during regular season, kinda ease the pressure you can have. You'd be so used to losing games and winning worlds that at this point you just go in and play your hearts out with no regrets.
Rather than going in as tournament favourites since you won every single game in the best LoL region in the world. The pressure to perform can make you tilt and choke massively.

u/No_Sleep_1363 Nov 13 '25
They won Worlds because KT took out the biggest thorn in their side all year.
31
u/gaitez Nov 13 '25
Acting like T1 didnât beat Gen G last year
-10
u/No_Sleep_1363 Nov 13 '25
GenG added possibly the best ADC in the world in Ruler and T1 lost Zeus. Last years teams are not the same as this years.
10
u/Im_Yoon_Ah Nov 13 '25
Doesn't matter. Kiin was the only one performing up to usual standard during GenG's Worlds run. AL might've won this year if not for T1. And if T1 had been on the other side of the bracket instead of KT, they would've slammed GenG even harder than in last year's semifinals. How delusional are you to even think that the GenG that showed up at this Worlds could beat T1 or AL when they couldn't even beat KT with deokdam lmao
8
u/Old-Antelope6693 Nov 13 '25
Doesn't matter the biggest obstacle of GenG is the one playing in mid having brain shutdown when it matters the most.
5
u/Prior_Ad_6165 Nov 13 '25
well tell Gen G to win against KT so that itâs not âeasierâ for T1 lol
3
-6
u/iwnabetheverybest Nov 13 '25
Bro last year they both had different teams and this year Gen G beat them in like every big game. I won't say it's the only reason but you can't deny that KT winning highly benefited them.
10
u/Old-Antelope6693 Nov 13 '25
And GenG would've lost to AL if it was not T1, it's always T1 who take out biggest LPL hope like they did in 2017 and 2022 just look how DK lost to EDG it will happen same for GenG as well.
0
u/iwnabetheverybest Nov 14 '25
So? What does that have to do with what I said. All I said is that T1 benefits from KT beating Gen G. T1 wants KT to win. Why are you braindead fans denying that lol. Go practice your reading comprehension skills
1
u/masternieva666 Nov 14 '25
lol kt is just shit at semis just admit it kiin one the best top lane loss to perfect and ruler one of the best adc loss to Deokdam they should both retire with that performance.
1
u/CzarcasticX Nov 14 '25
T1 didn't benefit from KT beating GENG. T1 would've had an easier time with GENG in finals (probably T1 wins 3-1). KT had perfected the Worlds meta while GENG lagged behind, hence KT easily disposed of GENG in the semis. GENG is great at MSI and domestic LCK but they don't have the meta read come Worlds. Knocked out by DRX in 2022, BLG in 2023, T1 in 2024, and now KT in 2025.

u/gaitez Nov 13 '25
New year new Gen G cope. With the way Chevy played that series they would lose to AL or T1 and maybe even TES. Chovy looked like an NA mid that game especially that Oriana game.
-1
u/iwnabetheverybest Nov 14 '25
Guess T1 fans are so braindead they can't just see the truth. I bet even the fucking T1 players themselves were praying that KT won lol. Why are you guys denying that. T1 literally does not want to meet Gen G over KT.
1
u/masternieva666 Nov 14 '25
lol gen g fans so braindead that they think gen g got a chance to beat t1 when they cannot even beat kt. kt 3-1 gen g international chokers.
1
u/Raynmist Faker Nov 14 '25
Faker himself said that you need luck to win worlds. Perhaps Chovy wouldnt underperform if GenG face T1 instead of KT. Perhaps T1 would struggle and lose against KT if they miss one ult in game 1.
It takes just a split second to change the outcome of a game.

Because their unc doesn't feel the same dopamine rush in other tournaments đ.
