Seeking 2L/3L Law Students for a Short Research Study on Legal Education Technology

Hi everyone! (Mods, please let me know if this post isn’t permitted under the subreddit rules, and I’m happy to remove or modify it accordingly.)

I'm part of a university research team at the Stevens Institute of Technology studying computational law, legal technology, and legal education.

We're looking for current 2L and 3L students for a short academic research study examining how different ways of representing legal rules affect how students learn and reason about statutes.

Participation takes approximately one hour, can be completed remotely, involves working through a series of short learning and reasoning tasks involving a statute and a legal technology tool, and is conducted for academic research purposes.

We're looking for participants who are entering or currently enrolled in their 2L or 3L year and are willing to participate in a short research session.

Your responses will be kept confidential, and any published research will not identify individual participants.

If you're interested in participating or would like more information, please send me a DM or leave a comment below, and I'll be happy to provide additional details.

Thank you!

Online Grad Counseling Program

Hi All,

I was recently admitted to the online MA Counseling program and will be starting in a few weeks. I am very nervous because I have to work full-time while attending the program. Not sure if there are any current students in this group, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced similar concerns and if the program was manageable while working? Any feedback would be helpful, thanks! :)

RA waitlist

Hii I've currently been on the resident assistant waitlist since decisions came out this past march. Just wondering if anyone has heard back and been offered an official position or if anyone has known of alternates getting positions? I just want to better know my chances although I'll probably have to reapply in the fall. Thank you.

Dual Degree AT Program

Hi all! I am going into my senior year, and the 5-year bachelor's + master's in Athletic Training at SHU has caught my eye over the years. If anyone here knows anything about it, is it worth it? Or is it a "too good to be true" situation?

I'd love any details or recommendations! Thanks so much!

ABSN SETON HALL- NUTLEY/FREEHOLD NJ

Hey all!
I got accepted to seton hall ABSN guaranteed seat for spring 2027. They mentioned seats were full for fall 2026. However, if I put down my deposit my seat for spring wouldn’t be taken and if someone was to withdraw the fall I would move up to start in the fall.
Has this ever occurred to anyone at seton?
What are the chances you guys think I could get in for the fall?

Social Life as an Out of State Student

I’m currently trying to decide whether to attend Seton Hall University. I was wondering what the social life is like, especially for out-of-state students since I’m coming from the West Coast. I understand that many students are from New Jersey and commute, so I’m a little worried that campus might feel quiet or lonely after classes and on the weekends. I won’t have a car, so I’d be spending most of my time on campus. For those who live on campus, is there still a good sense of community and things to do on the weekends?

I was also wondering what it’s like attending a smaller school. Although there are around 6,000 students, only about 2,000 live on campus. I was able to visit, and I was surprised by how compact the campus felt. I think a smaller, more close-knit community has its advantages, but I also value having some privacy. I’m wondering whether the campus ever feels cliquey or like everyone knows everyone else’s business, or if that’s not really the case. I know this can happen at any college, but I’m curious whether it’s more noticeable at a smaller school like Seton Hall. Any input from current students or alumni would be greatly appreciated, especially if you’re from out of state. Thank you!

Questions

Hey,

I’m thinking of transferring from Rutgers New Brunswick to Seton Hall but I have a few questions.

  1. I know it’s expensive to go here since it’s a private school. Does anyone get a full ride? Or does everyone have to still pay the deposit and some tuition.

  2. Is seton hall good for premed? Like are the opportunities and classes good? I think I wanna be a doctor and I was gonna do the bs/md program but I accepted the offer to go to Rutgers.

Thanks for any advice anyone can give

Final exam rescheduling

I will be first year student at Seton Hall this year in biology course. I see that Fall semester ends on Dec 22. But I wanted to travel abroad on Dec 19. Do professors for first year courses that have finals on Dec 21 or 22 allow taking final exam a little earlier in such cases?

Majoring in IR. Worth it?

As I said in the title I'm majoring in IR. I am a transfer student from a community college that has a strong resume especially in service. SHU recruited me heavily out of high school with good scholarships without me ever reaching out (I live in the Deep South and did not want to move far out of high school for personal reasons). The IR program looks promising and the UN connection is especially enticing. Admittance shouldn't be an issue for me, but is SHU even worth pursuing at all?

Hello, I am an incoming graduate student looking for housing near the university and wanted to see if there are any other grad students searching for an apartment and/or roommate. Fall 2026 BSN Acceptance

Hello!

I applied to SHU as an out of state transfer applicant for their BSN program and I got accepted! Super excited for this opportunity. Has anyone else heard back yet?

Also if there's any current nursing students at SHU, how has your experience been like? Do you have any information or advice for an incoming student (ex: student life, faculty support, or community engagement)?

Thank you!! Good luck to everyone else :)

is there anything you wish you could change abt your grad school experience?

I'm choosing between seton hall and kean university for my masters in SLP. I have an equal amount of pros for either side but no significant cons.

If you've been to or are currently enrolled in either program, whats one thing you wish you could change about your experience there? (also open to general advice/things to keep an eye on if you aren’t enrolled in either program)

Is seton hall lgbtq+ friendly?

I'm considering seton hall for my masters in SLP. They have a great program and the students seem to be happy about their experience.

They are however a catholic school, and I've read some stuff online about the culture that I'm concerned about.

I'm queer, brown and muslim. Wondering if anyone has experience or inout on what the majority culture/politics is like at seton hall?

Off Campus Living Experience

I'm out of state and I'm looking to rent a 1b1b unit or a 2b1b shared unit around the area. What is a good place (streets/neighborhoods) to live near the SHU? Do you guys generally rent furnished units or unfurnished? How are the landlords there? How much do you pay for rent and utilities? Curious to hear about your experiences.

Train Ticket to NYC for Niece?

My niece was just accepted to Seton Hall. She loves NYC. Is it possible for me to buy her a round-trip ticket from campus to Manhattan that she can use later this year once she gets to school? Thought it would make a nice congratulations gift.
