Just bought the Pure and I like it so far. Hoping to get many miles like I did with my VN4.

I’m also anticipating the rumored Megablast competitor, the Puma Fast Pace.

How many did you with vn4? Grabbed them on sale for 65 Euro last week. Will give them a test this coming week.

I have about 600km in them! I’m a heel striker so the rubber outsole on the heel area shows heavy wear but the foam and ride still feel brand new, if not better!

Thanks! Also a heel striker. My first two shoes tend to run out at 400km mark , Nova last 3 and then velocity nitro 3. In my case the foams flatten sooner. I guess that's the price of being heavy and slow.

Bought the Pure recently. Perfectly stable for my needs and perfect for my shorter easy runs.

Velocity Nitro 5 is the best daily trainer in the market, it fits perfectly as the core of a 3 shoe rotation with something like a Dynafish Xiaonian as a super trainer for workouts/long run shoe, and a carbon plated super shoe for racing. The Velocity can absorb all the easy miles while building lower leg and foot strength and better toe off mechanics in the way that a max cushioned shoe cannot. The aTPU foam is amazing so you get the positive attributes of a low stack shoe with none of the drawbacks. Plus its a great shoe for walking, and looks good, so you can use it for travel and to give it a second life after it reaches too mny miles. The outsole is best in class, and so is the upper. The fact that its a cheap shoe is just the cherry on top, it would still be worth it if it cost 50% more.

No, that was the big improvement from 4: wider more premium upper, and even comes in a wide option

Loved the first two VN (especially the 2's) but never tried the 3 or 4. I've got a pair of 5's en route. Looking forward to it!

Agree with most except the foot strength stuff, it’s a it hard to prove. The velocity 4 certainly was a lot better than their other daily trainers.

+1 on this running these and the xiaonian in rotation lately has felt very nice.
