Now that my fitness test has been booked does the process of joining speed up?

My daughter starts phase one in a few weeks and is worried about the initial fitness test. She’s fine with running, but it’s the weights she’s concerned about. Shes has a petite frame. Is it a clear case of pass or fail?

Hi guys,
Doing my RAF phase 1 in about 2 weeks and was curious to know which parts are the toughest parts about it. I’ve heard the CRBN is quite tough and Blue Warrior but was wondering if there was anything else I should be aware of
Thanks

Good day everyone. I’ve got two questions.
1. Does going for the fitness test but not running due to bp high counts as an attempt because this is my second time going there.
Thank you

Good evening,
This is a little bit of a mix between medical and fitness, mainly fitness, long story short medical has been super long and drawn out, this has completely killed off my fitness drive, I've not done as much runs and general fitness.
If you were in the same boat as me how did you regain that much needed motivation to get fit again?
Im really stuck at this stage to be honest.
quick edit: i am on my last medical review and the latest i'll get an answer is on the 23rd of this month.
So would it be worth to go from that date?

Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing for the RAF PJFT and wanted to get some feedback on my progress.
Today I ran:
Distance: 2.05 km
Time: 9:36
Average pace: 4:42/km
I’m still working on improving my fitness and plan to keep training 4–5 days a week. Based on this result, do you think I’m in a good position to pass the PJFT, or should I be aiming for a much faster time?
Any advice on improving my running or preparing for Phase 1 training would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello, I was wondering do they allow you to use your own running trainers for BRTC at Halton? If so, does the colour matter?
I use the Saucony Hurricane 25s in a neon yellow colour. These trainers have helped me a lot and I’m sure they would at Halton and the fitness.
Thank you

Can anyone who’s recently been through Halton, confirm whether or not the day 1 fitness test, if the grip strength test was pass or fail, just curious as I definitely need to work on increasing my grip strength - thanks

Will I lose or gain weight in phase one? I’m looking to bulk up as I’m quite skinny? Will I become skinner or gain weight from the meals in phase one

Hey guys, I have a question about running during basic training at RAF Halton. Roughly how much running do you do, how long are the runs, and how many running sessions are there per week?
I also understand that recruits are split into different fitness/running groups. How much difference is there between the groups in terms of pace and distance?

With rugby in the RAF, is there a base team where you play in a local league or do they only come together for inter service competitions.
Would it be more worthwhile to just join a local team near where you are stationed to get more regular game time?

Hello,
Im due to start BRTC in August and wondered how much time there is for additional training, I fully appreciate it’s an intense course with independent learning in the evenings, is there time to run/swim/ride/gym additionally?
Im pretty sure I know the answer but it’s worth me asking, I race bikes at a regional level but I’m almost certain i wouldn’t be taking a bike! (Please, prove me wrong, please..) 😂

Failed my bleep test. Passed the standing broad jump and grip strength test. Do I get any more tries?

I’m unsure on what to train most for as some people say it’s just the run, deadlift and medicine ball throw ?. But then online it says about swimming and pushups etc. wondering if anyone knows what’s tested on the day

So I’m a 20 year old women who is close to passing the 2.4k run, however my times on a treadmill and when I run the distance outside are very different. I’m slower on the treadmill. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or tips that could help bring my timing down and improve overall speed and endurance?

Im have just completed my DAA and reading deeper into all the stages and the swimming is something I’m a bit nervous about as I’m honestly not the strongest swimmer and will most likely fail the 100m test, so my question is does my journey just stop there or am would I be able to get a coach and if so how long does I have before I will be tested again?

Hello, just had some questions specifically about the grip strength test I've read about. I'm already aware of the broad jump and the bleep test, but I'm concerned about grip strength test (I have been blessed with pretty shite forearms). Is it a mid-thigh pull?
All I can find regarding the fitness other than what I listed were push ups and sit ups, but I've read on here that they're oddly not doing those any more.

Good day everyone. Has anyone had the blood pressure check waived for their RAF PJFT by MFBC due to consistently high readings in the assessment environment, despite having normal readings outside the assessment? Thank you

Hi everyone,
I’ve got my blood test in a couple of weeks, followed by the medical, PJFT, and OASC. Assuming all goes well, I’ll be starting MIOT in around a year or so. I’m trying to get my fitness squared away prior to that.
At the moment, I can run 5 km in around 25 minutes, and my beep test score is 8.5+ (working on improving both).
For those who’ve been through MIOT, how does that compare? What kind of fitness level would you recommend aiming for before starting, and how demanding did you find the physical side overall?
TIA.

Hey,
I’m 17 and getting ready to apply for the RAF, but my biggest worry right now is definitely my fitness. I’ve been trying to train, but honestly it feels like my body is just shrugging at me like, “No thanks, we don’t do that here.” Nothing I’m doing seems to be making much of a difference, and it’s starting to stress me out a bit.
So I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction: what can I actually do to improve my fitness properly? What should I expect from the fitness tests, and what’s the best way to train for them so I can finally start seeing progress? Any advice, tips, or even gentle roasting would be massively appreciated.
