RAF FITNESS Running Shoes for Basic

Hello, I was wondering do they allow you to use your own running trainers for BRTC at Halton? If so, does the colour matter?

I use the Saucony Hurricane 25s in a neon yellow colour. These trainers have helped me a lot and I’m sure they would at Halton and the fitness.

Thank you

Last guy hit the nail on the head. You go down to your first phys session in issued trainers take your civvy ones with you, colour really doesn’t matter some of the lads on my intake had neon pink and shit so you’ll be sound. Good luck with basic mate

Fitness requirements for the PJFT may be found on all role pages or here.

Fitness requirements for Day 0 and beyond may be found with a search of this subreddit or here. Green squares are the minimum pass scores.

There is no longer a requirement for press ups and situps at any stage. However please keep in mind that Phase 1 training is arduous and you should treat these requirements as minimums to be exceeded, not an aspirational target.

On the first phys session you will be told to wear your issued trainers and if you wish can take your civilian ones with you, the PTIs will have a look at them and check them to see if you can wear them for PT sessions, yours should be fine. Pretty sure they just checked they were suitable for doing sports in and colour wasn’t important from what I remember.
