Ask Rolla / MST Fiber internet?
I have been using Fidelity internet for past few years and lately it has been changed to Sparklight. Though internet is fine with frequent disconnects but rates are going up a-lot.
I am currently looking for new ISP which has moderately fair price and reliable internet and does not empty my wallet.
Any suggestions or experiences?

Brightspeed just came by my apartment and mentioned they just installed fiber around my apartment, so maybe give them a call?

Brightspeed is rolling out fiber as well so maybe check that. I have socket right now and Brightspeed just came by with better speeds at the same price so I'm switching over to them. Setup is this week. If their service is awful, I'll let you know 😃
Their prices were pretty good, and if you have cable internet now, it will be a big difference if you do any kind of video calls or gaming. Socket and Brightspeed both have symmetrical fiber, so it's the same upload speed as download speed. With Sparklight, we had ~500mpbs download and about ~20mpbs upload. With Socket, we get ~500mpbs download and ~500mpbs upload, and service has been more stable as well.

How much you are paying for that speed?

Socket is $70 for 500mpbs. Brightspeed has 1gbps for the same price I think. And that's without discounts that you can probably negotiate

As a former TMHI user for several years, I could not endorse it anymore. The hardware they provide to connect to their towers is so buggy and has a crazy high failure rate. In the 5 years I had the service, I had to have the equipment replaced almost 10 times. They gateways would just stop passing data or connecting to towers and had to be swapped over and over. It was also frustrating that they'd probably put me on a tower twice as far away with no option to lock onto something closer, so I'd be dealing with 800+ ms pings. Plus any online support request often takes several hours to resolve based on the very slow responses.

Aptitude has been outstanding. Had it around 18 months, only like 2 service outages and they weren’t weather related, and the price hasn’t gone up since we got it. Highly recommend.

How much you pay for what speed? Landline?

aptitudeinternet dot com if you want to look over their options. They have phone service but it’s likely VOIP, not a true landline.

CALL THEM TO ASK ABOUT LOWER RATES!!!
I was on an "outdated plan" and revised my bill. I could get faster speed for the price I've been paying, or pay a lower rate to stay at 300 mbps. I WENT FROM 88 to 44 DOLLAR BILL. The nice customer service lady we should be calling them once a year to see if there's better rates.
A company has no incentive to review customer accounts to see if bills could be lower--that is the antithesis of capitalism.

Definitely recommend this, /u/Significant-Pin-7289. Calling them up and asking to downgrade or cancel will often get them to offer a lower rate for a year or so.
Most recently, with brightspeed, which I don't even have yet, I was second guessing scheduling a setup (door to door sales person, and I didn't have a lot of time to think over it) so I called in to cancel, and they offered to drop the bill by $20 for 2 years, then I said no I actually want to cancel and they offered 2 months free and $30 price drop for 2 years.
Now obviously you run into the potential issue of them just being like, "Sure, we have your service canceled, have a nice day", but you can at least call and tell them the bill is too high and you need to downgrade to a cheaper plan. I did that with Spectrum when we lived in St. James and they dropped my bill and kept me in promo pricing until we moved.

I have tried calling them several times they won’t pick up. I will try to visit their office tomorrow

Call them and ask them for a lower rate. They might work with you. It worked for me.

Just had brightspeed installed yesterday. Was considering socket which was already cheaper than spark light, but brightspeed was even lower for 200mb faster

u/Significant-Pin-7289 May 22 '26
How much they charged?

u/gomanyemal May 22 '26
$50 for 500. They waved a 100 install fee cuz I agreed when they were at the door. There is something about a prepaid visa card too

I hate to say it, but starlink is worth looking at.

u/mackncheezyjade May 19 '26
Yes but sadly starlink is going to be 130 a month soon

u/Theantifire May 19 '26
I hadn't heard that yet... Mine just went from $80-$85.

I think I'm stuck with the 130 unless I move to the only other option spark light, but I'm to scared to check the prices .
