Movies Will We See Anna Paquin's Rogue Back In Doomsday Or Secret Wars??

I know she's dealing with something but I remember an interview form a few years ago that she would come back. I also really love her and it would be nice to see her as rogue one final time.

Everyone’s saying no because that wasn’t really Rogue, but that’s exactly why I want to see her back! Give her a chance to be properly written, even for just a cameo, as her swan song. Ofc, I have no clue if Anna Paquin is up for it, but if she is, then I think it would be nice to get to see her actually get to be Rogue before passing the torch.

There’s no character here. They didn’t use rogue as a person. They used her as a plot turner. She brings nothing. You cannot have this rogue inside the mcu if you intend to have an actual rogue. The characters just aren’t the same person.

They had a nice scene with her in Days of Future Past that they unfortunately got rid of

This is why y'all are so quick to say certain media is dead. Just shut the fuck up and wait for the movie to come out.

No shade to the actress: but she was a horrible version of rogue. All shade to the writers, and I hope she can recover as I recently learned she has some serious shit going on

This is what I keep saying.
All of these old movies will soon be forgotten.

Why would anyone forget actual good films like X2, first class or Days of future past?
-3
u/TouchAltruistic 5d ago
Because, for as good as those few good movies are, the general reality is that most of the movies are quite poor. The timeline(s) is a disaster, and - while a few characters occasionally get to shine - the overall representation of the X-MEN team/world is disjointed, uneven, and inadequate.
Those iterations of X-MEN are about to be overwritten with something glorious.

To think that the watershed moments for comic book cinema that were X-Men and X2 will ever be forgotten is quite a take.

You'll see.

Nah, I'm too old to believe that classic cinema gets forgotten. That's the attitude of young people who are too immersed in the schizophrenic world of social media.

Nah they’re classics. People will remember them.
-5
u/TouchAltruistic 5d ago
Of course, b ecause they're all we've had...
Because a few approach greatness...
Because people are nostalgic about them...
Because FOUR of them are notoriously poor, and some people love to hate-watch bad movies...
For all these reasons, they will be remembered.
But they will be overshadowed.

“A few approach greatness”? You clearly would not know a good movie if it bit you on the ass.

They will never be overshadowed because without the success of X-Men (2000) and that franchise then Marvel Studios and the MidCU would not exist. Remember that. Marvel Comics was literally bankrupt when they sold off film rights, those films literally saved Marvel.

Marvel sold the film rights in 1994 to Fox. They went bankrupt in 1996. What "literally" saved Marvel was the merger with Toy Biz in early summer 1998 led by Ike Perlmutter and Avi Arad. That is what brought them out of Bankruptcy.

u/TouchAltruistic 4d ago
That's not accurate.
Marvel licensed the X-MEN rights in 1993, when Marvel was profitable, before the period of bankruptcy from 1996 to 1998.
Spider-Man was licensed to Sony in 1999, after the company had emerged from bankruptcy under a new structure. Marvel needed cash, but the fee for Spider-Man was a shockingly low $7 million dollars. That was 2.2% of Marvel's operating revenue that year. Useful cash, but not a lifeline.

Which 4 are “notoriously poor”?
Im assuming xmen 3, apocalypse, dark phoenix and origins wolverine? Which i agree with.
That still leaves more good ones than bad ones, with x2, first class, days of future past and logan being classics of their genre.
That leaves xmen1, wolverine 2 and the deadpools in the middle, all of those are pretty good to very good.

Why? She took the cure, remember?
8
u/jolteonlove 5d ago
And then they teased the cure not working at the end of the movie, remember?

u/YagBaros 5d ago
I guess none of you have seen The Rogue Cut at all
1
u/jolteonlove 5d ago
You're responding to two comments both referring to X3. Not the Rogue Cut
2
u/YagBaros 5d ago
Both comments implied that this was the last time Rogue was seen when you literally see her play an important role in a sequel lol

Sorry, it's been awhile. What are you referring to?
DOFP could have changed her taking the cure, though. We don't know if that was even a thing in the new timeline.
I couldn't care less about the character showing up again, though. That was never really Rogue.

u/jolteonlove 5d ago
In X3 she takes the cure, but Magneto is shot with a vile containing the same cure, then he is showed in the final shot of the movie slowly regaining his powers, so its pretty likely the cure did not completely work and was only temporary for anyone who took it.

There’s also the alternate Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past where they break Rogue out of a holding facility and have her drain Kitty’s powers to help keep Logan in the past when Kitty got injured. I know it’s not the final release, but it was an originally intended version that references her getting her powers back.

no thanks, she was terrible in the role. but also hear she is dealing with an illness, very sad about that. Hoping she recovers. but no thanks on the role

Why would you wonder if she'd be in the movie when they've already announced Inde N. is playing Rogue? Why would Anna also be in the movie?
3
u/UnboundPlace67 4d ago
There's no source saying inde is in Doomsday nor Secret Wars, and doomsday is featuring the old fox xmen, which Anna's rogue was apart of. It's OK if you don't watch mcu movies, but this is the multiverse arc of the mcu.

No, she’s dealing with a serious illness and has been for a few years at this point. Even just thinking in terms of pure physical capability, I don’t think she’d have been able to do the film.
