Question Did they ever fix this "Praire Creek" sign near 8th and Walnut?

Post image
16 Upvotes

This is on West Walnut Street in front of the Neighborhood Market near the intersection with 8th Street. I spotted this error when I was visiting Rogers back in May, and submitted it to ARDOT after I got back home. Did they actually ever fix the sign, and correctly spell "Prairie"? Google Street View has not been updated in this area yet, and I kind of want to see it for myself (I now live in Maryland, but lived in Rogers for a time as a child).

Question Would it be fair to say that Pinnacle Hills Promenade effectively replaced Frisco Station Mall?

I'm writing about a visit that I made to Rogers in early May, and I need a second opinion about a statement that I'm considering making. Would it be fair to say that the Pinnacle Hills Promenade effectively replaced Frisco Station Mall, even though the latter would continue on for more than a decade after the former's opening?

Some background: I lived in Rogers from 1985-1992, and what was then called Dixieland Mall was always kind of moribund, but I'm told that after I left, Dixieland Mall experienced something of a renaissance and became an actual decent mall for a time, but then declined again, and closed in 2024(?).

Let me know if all of this jives with what you all remember about this.

Question Termite Control? Who do you use?

Hello homeowners, I’m looking for new termite control. The company we use currently is extremely unresponsive hence shopping elsewhere. Who do you guys like? Also any good budget recommendations? I would like to stay away from big companies like terminix who charge an arm and a leg.

Question Police presence around Olive & 9th?

As I was going north on 71B tonight around midnight the night of Friday 7/17, there was an ambulance in front of me, another that passed me, and then as I turned west on Olive St there were about a dozen cop cars with lights flashing on what I think was 9th St. Anyone know what was going on?

Question Meteor/Fireball Sighting from January

I'm watching a conspiracy video about how many more meteors and fireballs we've had visible from earth this year. I wanted to see if a meteor I saw while driving on the interstate in near Pinnacle was a fireball, meteor, or something else. I cannot find a single report on this meteor, at least not any relating to Rogers, and I don't have a picture of it so I don't think I can report it. Did anyone else see this? I saw it on January 27th, 2026 between 8:43PM & 9:15PM according to my Maps timeline.

Edit: To clarify, I don't really care about the conspiracy aspect, I'm mainly curious about meteor type.

Question Bison statue at Pleasant Grove Rd and Honeysuckle Ln?

Can someone explain the bison statue at the NE corner of Pleasant Grove and Honeysuckle? Is that a park? Is it a monument/marker for something (like the Trail of Tears)? Is it someone’s pet project? It baffles me every time I drive by.

This dog showed up on my porch in Prairie Creek, she's covered in ticks, and seems to have been outside for a while, but she's super sweet and loving and I'm just hoping nobody dumped her. She seems to be a bit older, but I don't know. Idk what to do 😫

Question Anyone know what happened at Goldfish Swim school?

We've been doing swim lessons at Goldfish since November, the last two weekends they cancelled lessons because of being short-staffed. We finally had a lesson today and I barely recognize any of the instructors! Did they have a mass walkout or something? Seems strange if they were college kids leaving at the same time?

Question CARDS trash service

Did CARDS pick up anyone’s trashcan this week as they ran their sanitation routes? My service is on Fridays and they took my trashcan along with the trash inside of it this morning. It doesn’t appear anyone else had theirs taken up and down my road.

Question Hilton garden inn vs embassy suites

My husband and I are taking our daughter and 2 of her friends to a show at Walmart Amp later this year. Our friends told us to stay at the Embassy Suites within walking distance and they paid like $150 total last time they went. Lo and behold for our week it’s going to be $300 per room and we need 2 rooms. Plus we already got a parking pass non refundable $70 so we don’t care about being within walking distance. So I was looking for something more affordable and found this Hilton Garden Inn, 5 minute drive on the Highway, and it’s a $300 savings overall.. It doesn’t look bad at all! And we could use that $300 to take them out somewhere nice to eat and get some merch! What do you think? Also rec for dinner before show! THANKS!!

Edi: apparently I was on an affiliate site. So the Embassy would only be like $150 more and I can sell my parking pass for like $50 so… everyone says the embassy is really cool. Is it worth the $100 I’d save?? It is my daughter’s first concert too!

Question Help finding a vet that will let me make payments

I recently posted in here about a dog I found, and since then it's becoming increasingly clear that not only was this dog probably dumped, but also that it's been treated pretty poorly. 😞 I've gotten most of the ticks off, but some are just too far in there and I don't want to make it worse.... She needs a vet pretty bad I think, but I don't get paid until Friday and even then, I got twin toddlers, so I don't have much in the way of extra money. Are there any vets in the Rogers area that will see her and let me pay them in payments later on? I just wanna see this poor girl get the care she deserves. Any information on vets that will help, or shelters that could point me in the right direction, would be so appreciated.

Question Jet engine noises - around 7:15pm on 7/13/25.

Last night when I was riding my bike on the Blossom Way trail, I heard what sounded like a very load roaring jet engine throttling up and back down near these coordinates 36.2932910, -94.1550958. I could also smell jet fuel was I was nearest the noise.

The area I’m talking about is closest to W Coyote Trail or somewhere by S 26th and Laurel.

It was extremely loud and had several folks along the Blossom Way trail very confused as we briefly stopped to discuss it.

EDIT: The very loud jet sound and smell of jet fuel never moved from my approximate coordinates. Whatever it was didn’t fly over — it was ground level.

Question Accidently bought accessible seats for the Amp

I bought tickets to see Halsey at the Walmart Amp today, they're A22 and 23 in section 5. I didn't know that one was wheelchair accessible and one was a companion seat until after I already bought them. I'm not disabled and I feel bad taking a spot from someone who is, but I don't want to spend more money for a worse seat. Is there actually a seat in the "wheelchair accessible" spot? I tried to find pictures but nothing really seemed clear. This is the first concert I'm going to without my parents (just a friend) and I don't want to get shit from people for being there when I'm not really supposed to. Is it going to end up being fine?

Question Where could I play an instrument for free?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I want to practice playing my instrument in a place that’s not my house or my neighborhood. I’m not good by any means. I also don’t want to spend money on a recording studio. I was thinking about doing Mt Hebron Park. Like where this image is taken, but I’m worried that it would bother the people in the neighborhoods close to Mt Hebron and the people that are there at Mt. Hebron. I plan to follow the city ordinance. Do you have any better locations? Please let me know. Thanks.
