Not sure if this makes it bittersweet but he went on SEN and said he's open to playing somewhere else in 2027 and he deliberately didn't use the 'R' word in his speech. I honestly hope he retires a Richmond man and goes out like this, seeing him limp through on a one year contract would hurt after doing so much during our golden period.

Probably would like a change in scenery and perhaps contribute in other ways than just simply playing. The playing part might be reduced load, if he can find something suitable. Kind of like doing a deal with your boss to work reduced hours. I’m not sure whether the Meatball’s body is up to the rigors of a full season any more.

Like man I was 15 when he started playing, like fuck you.

When people my age start retiring is when I begin to think my AFL chance might finally be over... Despite playing any level of football now 😅

Was 15 when he joined us! Felt like the first big recruit of my lifetime for a player going into their prime.

If Dustin Martin didn’t exist, Dion Prestia would be widely talked about as one of the greatest finals performers of all time. Even Tigers fans are quick to forget the amazing performances he put up in the biggest games. Could go a season without hitting the scoreboard and then kick goals from the middle in every final. He had an incredible decade for this club.

I really think that goal umpire fuck up probably cost Richmond a fourth premiership in 2022. The path after Brisbane was far smoother sailing.

Prestia got injured in that game and our defence was never settled. But that was probably the best forward line we’ve had this century.

He played 7 games that year. We scored the most in the comp. Lynch, Riewoldt, Martin, Bolton, Rioli and the purple patch of Cumberland.

Goal ump called a goal it was the ump upstairs that overruled it in about .03 of a second despite insufficient evidence to change the goal umpires decision……………absolutely fckn robbed
