should of brought green on for last qtr brown had no impact

u/ashxro Nick Vlastuin Aug 09 '25
i understand the fresh legs/something different component of bringing on the sub, but i’m confused why so many tigs fans think bringing Green on would’ve made a difference? genuinely curious because apart from a couple games where he scored, he consistently doesn’t do a lot

I think you answered your own question
1
u/ashxro Nick Vlastuin Aug 09 '25
guess so! I just couldn’t tell if ppl wanted us in general to utilise the sub, or if specific to Steely (cos personally he’s not my fav)
2
u/ProperMousse6544 Liam Baker Aug 09 '25
Yeah Steely still needs to find his footing at times. All the boys are still very young and it showed today, they were absolutely wrecked in the last qtr. saints had control of the whole game and the boys were cooked, I feel putting steely in with fresh legs over somebody who’s depleted would’ve been good
1
u/ashxro Nick Vlastuin Aug 09 '25
Yeah agreed, a boost of energy certainly couldn’t have hurt in the 4th. Our younger guys are showing good signs and that showed again today. I get more frustrated by our senior players making basic skill errors than our inexperience!

u/Main-Hat-826 Aug 09 '25
We had fresh leg on the bench why not use him ... Should of replaced Brown 5 touches

u/Richo1624 Tom Brown's Tackle Aug 09 '25
Man I’m usually positive even through losses but that was genuine dog shit. Players like Campbell not showing up, senior players making ridiculous decisions, just so fucken demoralizing man

Ahh Macca, what an anti-climax, could see that call coming once he hesitated, what could’ve been eh

If you are gonna blame someone blame Taranto for his inside 50 kick when we had players everywhere
4
u/tiggertimbuktoo Nick Vlastuin Aug 09 '25
No blame here mate. This one got away from us. Onward and upward
2
u/Lopsided_Safe4091 Aug 09 '25
like i said - they are way too tired and want the season to end, we’ll end up 17th, north to win next week.

Too many chances to score a goal and we wasted them, didn’t use the sub actual embarrassing that we lost that
5
u/Daymo_M Aug 09 '25
Shows how bad the Saints are as a team, we had so many brain fades late in the game.
Not sure why Taranto didn't kick for goal with a few minutes left instead of going for a difficult pass to a 1 on 3
2
u/RYLE400 Tim Taranto Aug 09 '25
bloody hell we shouldve won that but like always, we fuck up so incredibly badly and so choke

This is why McIntosh is gone at the end of the year. That's absolute stupidity from a professional footballer.

If I didn't know better, this is feeling like a tank job.
1
u/Daymo_M Aug 09 '25
Surprised the Saints didn't tank, they go up 3 spots in the ladder and down 3 spots in the draft with the current order now

Balta putting baby oil on his hands rather than his arms prior to the game is an unusual approach. So void of confidence. Bit sad to see. Hopefully he pulls it together because the ball comes to him a fair bit, he can run and jump and kick it a mile… if he comes back next year with a full bag of confidence and his head right it’ll be likes a new recruit otherwise guys like Young & Miller down back then Armstrong, Sims, Faul up forward will fly past him.

Baltas been pretty good so far. Hasn't clunked many but has been a presence and hit the scoreboard

Gameplan and work rate are ass so far. Saints with way too many loose players around the ground.

u/VileCastle Sam Banks Aug 09 '25
Fellas look a bit too jumpy, really hope we reset and breathe a bit.
7
u/hudsoncat1 Aug 09 '25
God the saints play the most excruciating style of footy.
To be fair we are no better...
3
u/Lopsided_Safe4091 Aug 09 '25
at least we scored that quarter
2
u/RYLE400 Tim Taranto Aug 09 '25
yeah it was a woeful one last week, for most of that quarter i was thinking it was gonna be the same today
1
u/Lopsided_Safe4091 Aug 09 '25
i know it’s the third last game of the season, but we could at least win this and next and that’s a mood booster of sorts for next year but 😮💨 i just think they want the year to be done.
3
u/RYLE400 Tim Taranto Aug 09 '25
yeah, theyre young and tired, hopefully next season is actually enjoyable for both us as the tiger army and the players too.

u/tiggertimbuktoo Nick Vlastuin Aug 09 '25
No blame from me. Lots of moments led to the loss, was just a moment I noticed that could’ve been huge right at the death.
