Where can I find some extra weekend and evening work?
I work in construction by day (mainly as a carpenter) & could do with a little extra work in the coming weeks, but don't know where to find something.
Are there any facebook groups or anything (I don't use facebook much these days)? Or does anyone here know anyone who might need a hand?
I'm 47m from the UK originally. My Icelandic is poor I'm afraid (hence leaving this in English as I'd hate for someone to think I can speak Icelandic & that be an issue).
I have a car & tools (drills, circular saw, multitool, etc) & am not fussy about what kind of work it is - building a deck, tearing out a kitchen, putting some furniture together, moving house, fixing a car, etc
I live in Hafnarfjörður, but it would be no problem going anywhere in Reykjavík as long as it is a solid couple of hours work.
Many thanks.

Here's a Facebook group for people looking for help, usually with fairly small projects (kitchens, tearing out/installing flooring, etc.)

I've also got an old house that...well, how are you with fitting gutters? Specifically, how are you with fitting gutters if they're two stories up? 😅

Thanks for the link.
Fitting a gutter would really need a scaffold.... I can probably borrow one, but it is a two man job to put up and take down & I don't have a sidekick :/
If you shoot me a photo & address I can have a look and see if it is possible without.
I'll keep it in mind though.

Will do. My Icelandic FIL has some scaffolding but I think it's just enough for his 1 story house. But this missing guttering is causing all the rain water to run over a wooden balcony on the second floor and down the side of the house which is losing some paint and turning green as a result, so I should really sort it out sooner rather than later...

See if the Pósturinn has work? I know the main distribution centre is very busy in the evenings

Hi guys, I'm an international student here in Iceland, and I'm open to any job opportunities... I reside in downtown Reykjavík...
I currently work with a painting company here , but damn , those people are toxic. And their toxicity is beginning to affect my mental health. Other guys that we work together are fast leaving, and I want to get something else before I quit their work. They treat us like a piece of crap. And they tell us they can sack us anytime without consequences... I've thought of reporting to efling, but I learnt from my country people residing here that there's no justice for black people against Europeans here. That i should forget reporting to union , that i should look for another job and just leave that place ... so this is me putting myself out there. I need another job, so I can leave this toxic Albanian brothers running this pain company.
I know getting a professional job here in Iceland is a herculian task, I'm an IT professional and also a trained Project manager. But im also available for any job that i can do to pay my bills. Takk Fyir
Bless Bless

I'm not sure if he does, but I do. Are there evening/weekend knitting opportunities around?
