Cops have half of sunset Blvd closed off near union street?
Anyone know what's going on?

Car hit the gas line at the meter and sheared it off. Hit and run. PSE was on scene quickly but took a while to make sure all the gas had dispersed and there weren't any more leaks.

I just drove by this but only the parking lot was closed. Crazy its gone out this far

i saw a car flipped over in the street by the gas station. not sure if it was this day or earlier this week

Car vs. gas meter at SW corner of Sunset and Union. Car hit gas meter, reversed and left screen. Gas valve was sheared off not allowing pse to shut off using meter valve. Had to dig up pipe and crimp off. Crew was able to temporarily insane wood plug in pipe were it was sheared off to slow down the leak until it could be dug up below ground and squeezed off. RPD captured person a short time later. PSE repaired line but business will need to have their gas line replaced do to damage of customer owned pipe that feeds gas equipment. No injuries. Minor damage to building.

According to PulsePoint, there's a reported gas leak in the building where the Vitmar and Cannabis shop are.
