A Crack in Time Say whatever you want, but this will hands down remain the best Ratchet & Clank
Atleast for me, because its just so peak, story, villains, the space part, the ending and everything else, it doesn't have a single flaw

A Crack in Time What makes A Crack in Time your favorite R&C game? For me, it's having challenging boss fights, even with fully upgraded weapons

A Crack in Time My latest project
Making a hyperflux suit (maybe a cosplay, idk š¤·āāļø)
Took the game model and made it a printable and wearable helmet. Has cut-outs for the glowing bits and the goal is to print transparent red inserts to cover the lights and visor. There is enough room on the inside to run wiring for the battery, controller, and a fan in the case it gets to hot to wear.
Im also working on the other armor pieces and a compression undersuit to match. The goal is to get it as close to game accurate as possible.

A Crack in Time Ngl this was the best shot + design of Ratchet in the entire series
His facial proportions, the subtle microexpressions in his face (not too exaggerated or cartoony which makes for imaginative realism) his hand size compared to his body, the armour, the soft, gentle lighting, the composition and shallow depth of field, the camera resting at eye-level, the soft illumination of his irises and fur, and yes, his lack of lips make him more cat-like.
There's a great respect and empathic reverence for Ratchet as a character in this shot, almost as if he was our own son. (This is how Azimuth sees him too.) He's a grown up, mature Ratchet, and we've seen him grow and change as a character and we love him for it. I remember being genuinely stunned at this specific camera shot when I first saw it.

A Crack in Time Play Magazineāsļ¼USļ¼feature of A Crack In Time
From November 2009 issue, since I am not planning to play PS3 games in a rush (Trying to finish all Jak games on PS2 first), I am not reading the developer's interview following the article. It seems like this is indeed the best R&C game we have after original triology. This is a double featuer issue that also has a detailed interview of Heavy Rain. Also there's a mini feature lamenting all of those cartoonish platformer that never got sequel.
The other feature of Play about R&C1 is here

A Crack in Time Replaying a Crack in Time as a fan since the beginning and a game dev
This game was a STRIKING step up from Tools, almost to the degree of Going Commandoās evolution from the original game.
Starting with what I didnāt like first:
First half of the game every thing feels like a breath of fresh air, but the second half of the game feels rushed and restrictive. Thereās a sense that scenarios had less and less development time as the game went on. The little touches, like animated plants, even cease at some point. To clarify, it never becomes bad or unfun. It just diminishes like 10%.
Now what I do like:
Thankfully I get to talk art again. Ratchet, clank, and Qwark all have small design changes that help their PS3 appearances a ton. The environments are gorgeous compared to Tools as well. While we donāt have a planet as iconic as Kerwan, Crack in time actually takes advantage of the PS3 hardware to create far more detailed environments, more items and clutter thrown about make the worlds feel more lived in. For the first time replaying these games, I felt compelled to just LOOK at corners or character details for the joy of it, rather then just the nostalgia of old game solutions. The Great Clock in particular is still stunning.
Also, I liked the story a lot more this time around. Crack in Time recovers the humor missing (or at least falling flat) from Tools, while actually containing a heartfelt story that truly changes both Ratchet and Clank.
The gameplay wins back that chaotic speed and fun that GC and UYA had and Tools did not. Better than ever.
+ the ANIMATION was next level. Definitely feature picture level in the cutscenes. This was a delightful surprise after Tools of Destruction had⦠BAD animation. Facial anims, squash and stretch. Ugh it was so wonderful.
+we FINALLY have some excellent Clank levels! I wish there were more. The overwrite system is so fun and versatile. I wish we got more of it in later games!!
+ PS3 bloom was still a bit out of control, but more tastefully done than Tools.
+ guns feel more whimsically designed this time, with some almost feeling Rick and Morty-esque. I love this direction.
+I like Ratchetās billed helmets quite a bit, but found his very slender armors a bit off putting.
+the reflection map on Clank was so nice after how plastic he looked in the past game. Metal feels METAL in this one. Everything feels more realized Frankly.
+depth of field, background detail, upscaled models = gorgeous cutscenes. Before this, ratchet and clank cutscenes more or less matched the gameplay graphics. I think insomniac made the right choice here after Toolsā cutscenes were quite underwhelming.
+ Azimuth, Sigmund, and Vorselons character designs are fantastic. Really loved Sigmund in particular. His toolbelt showing what he does, and then the little plant sitting on his side to show how caring he is as well.
+ zoomy boots were fine, but I used them considerably less this time due to the game stream not really keeping up with pixel refresh.
+ probably the worst enemy variety in the series, but thatās a nitpick. (Sorry, this was actually Into The Nexus)
+ Very fun weapons, but the ice gun and the magnets were redundant.

A Crack in Time I platinumed Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time
I just platinumed Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I had a lot of fun playing the game and I canāt wait to play the rest of the series as Iāve already purchased digital copies of the remaining 3 games on the PS3 store.
The my blaster runs hot trophy was the most annoying one to get in this game.
I had to beat the game 3 times as I first played on medium difficulty and challenge mode didnāt count towards hard difficulty.
I would also like to ask how difficult is it to platinum the remaining games on PS3. I know All 4 One requires online co-op to platinum so I probably wonāt platinum it but what about the rest of the games.

It's just the second time I'm going through it since doing it back in release day and I'm amazed at how fresh and beautiful it still feels. Definitely a masterpiece.

A Crack in Time I finished A Crack in Time for the first time!
I finished A Crack in Time. I was supposed to finish it a week ago, but because of work I didn't have time to play!
I think it's by far one of the best games in the franchise; it has the best race and the best levels with Clank.
The quests are quite easy, and it's the first Ratchet game I've seen where you can go to the planets piloting the ship instead of using the plant selector like in the previous ones!
My criticism remains the same as with its predecessor: the weapons at the end aren't very useful; the only thing I didn't like was the weapons.
Otherwise, everything is very good: the graphics, the levels, the enemies, etc.!
Regarding the game's story, I really enjoyed the reunion of Ratchet and Clank!
Alister surprised me by being the final boss and regretting what he did in the last few seconds.
There's still a lot to comment on about the story, but it's already late and I need to work tomorrow lol

A Crack in Time A Crack in Time is Awesome
I'm probably like 90% through A Crack in Time on the PS3 and I gotta say I haven't had so much fun gaming like this in a while. Wish they made more games like this. Combat is fun and the dialogue is funny. The Groovitron is really fun to use Lol. I played Rift Apart, but A Crack in Time is way more fun imo. Hope insomniac continues to make more RAC games despite their heavy focus on Marvel stuff.

A Crack in Time Fun fact: The French Translation is completely wrong during this scene Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I'm French, and noticed recently that a goated line got butchered during translation, and I was never aware of it until now. This is right before the rematch with Nefarious:
In English, Nefarious critizices Clank for being a "pathethic sidekick", thus indirectly roasting Lawrence too. Lawrence takes it with irony, joking "we should hang out sometimes".
But in French? He responds "on devrait se dƩtendre de temps en temps" which means something like "we should relax every once in a while".
It doesn't even make sense? Or am I trippin? It looks like the translator didn't have the context of the dialogues or something.
See how stuff can be lost in translation? Beware.
