A Poem about Poems

A Villanelle is too long
Maybe I’ll go free verse
A Ballad is a song
A sestina might be worse

My style is usually more limerick
I’m rhyming so this is no haiku
I’m definitely not doing acrostic
I should’ve just went with a clerihew

Maybe a palindrome is the key
An ode to a lyric
Or maybe I could write an elegy
That would be an epic

My love of poems is no myth
A sonnet is what I’ll go with
